I looked up, and Knox Hawthorne's face suddenly fell into my sight.

I grabbed his shirt collar and finally cried out uncontrollably.

I never thought I would bump into Knox at such a vulnerable moment.

Knox is Ryker's senior from school, and he helped Ryker a lot when he was starting from scratch.

But he has another identity, which is my boss.

My first encounter with Knox was at my wedding with Ryker. He stared at me for a long time and only said one sentence.

That one sentence made me blush.

Later, when I was looking for a job locally, the HR from The Hawthorne Group actively reached out to me, saying I would be a good fit for their company and invited me for an interview.

The Hawthorne Group, being a local business leader, was a dream employer for many. I just went to take a look, but unexpectedly got hired.

So from the moment I came to this city, I joined The Hawthorne Group and have been there for five years.

Knox is a good boss, not only taking care of me in many ways but also helping Ryker a lot.

I'm not a blockhead, I could feel a burning pursuit in Knox's gaze.

So I once openly discussed it with Ryker and even proposed to resign, but Ryker immediately rejected the idea.

"What are you talking about? Resign? Do you know how much help Senior has given our company? He hasn't really done anything to you, why make a big deal out of nothing?"

With him putting it that way, I naturally couldn't say anything more.
