Love Story4 - Chapter 3

When it came time to pay the bill, I handed the receipt to Daniel.

Daniel's eyes widened as soon as he saw the amount, and without thinking, he asked, "Two thousand five hundred and ninety-two?"

I smiled and nodded: "Yes, Sir. The lady ordered several more dishes later, don't you remember?"

Indeed, Cara had a good appetite, but unfortunately, the portions at our restaurant were on the smaller side, focusing on refinement.

"And there's a five percent service charge?" Daniel looked at me, not understanding.

I smiled and nodded, explaining: "Yes, Sir. Your total consumption is two thousand five hundred and ninety-two, and the service charge is one hundred and twenty-nine. Would you like to pay by cash or card?"

"The service charge is so high! Amara, you're not doing this on purpose, are you?" Cara was clearly not able to accept this.

Her words drew disapproving glances from the surrounding c u s t o m e r s .

Daniel, without waiting for my explanation, looked at me coldly:

"Amara, this is clearly your fault, isn't it? I came to dine at this restaurant, and you, as a waitress, should be serving us. Now you're charging us such a high service fee!"

I smiled and explained: "Sir, this fee is not arbitrarily charged by me, but a restaurant policy."

Cara snorted coldly: "You're a waitress at this restaurant. Just because you say it isn't doesn't mean it isn't. Call your manager out here. I want to file a complaint against you!"

Their tone was fierce and unreasonable, and the customers nearby couldn't stand it anymore. They started defending me and criticizing Daniel and Cara.

"Didn't you research the place before coming to eat? If you can't afford it, why come to an expensive restaurant? And then you hassle a young girl because you don't want to pay."

Uncle Hart had always been with my dad. I remember when I was little, there was a time when my family encountered business difficulties, but uncle Hart remained loyal and even helped us solve our problems.

Now that our family business has grown bigger, my dad, always one to repay kindness, specifically assigned the group's catering sector to uncle Hart to manage.

Uncle Hart said, "This restaurant is newly opened under the group. I just happened to come by for an inspection today."

"I thought I heard you arguing earlier. Was there any dissatisfaction with the dining experience? If there are any opinions, you must voice them."

Uncle Hart had watched me grow up since I was little, so of course, he knew about me working here as a waitress and that I was deliberately concealing my real identity.

However, hearing these words, Daniel's expression immediately stiffened. He then put on a smile and said, "No, Mr. Hart, this restaurant is very good."

I, standing beside them, deliberately asked in confusion, "Sir, didn't you just say this was a rip-off place and that you'd never come again? Since you now think our restaurant is not bad, why not give us a five-star review?"
