Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is When Fate Plays Its Hand (Miranda and Hansel). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Hand 560. Let's read the author's When Fate Plays Its Hand (Miranda and Hansel) Internet story right here.
Chapter 0560
“Mimi, why are you asking all this?” Jack asked.
Miranda’s eyes twinkled as she said, “Actually, I have a project I’d like your help with. Are you interested?”
He looked dumbfounded, “What kind of project?”
“It’s for a smart lab, but you’ll also need to do the structural work.”
What Miranda envisioned wasn’t just any lab but a highly advanced smart lab.
They quickly finished their meal. After hearing her requirements, Jack was eager to leave and return to his office to draft the plans.
Right after he left, Miranda initiated a group call with her two “partners” to share the news. Madison and Sebastian agreed without hesitation. After all, they didn’t have a more viable plan.
After returning home that night, she compiled a detailed list of requirements and emailed it to Jack. She assumed it would take him a few days to get back to her. But to her surprise, he called her the following
morning.
“Mimi, no, Ms. Sutton. I’m on board with this project. From now on, you’re my honorable client.”
Miranda burst out laughing. “Come on, Jack. There’s no need for that…”
“Oh, but there is. We have to stick to the rules. If you’re unhappy with anything, just let me know. Don’t think of me as your cousin. From now on, I’m just your dedicated project assistant.”
She laughed even harder but understood his point. This was purely business with no personal feelings
involved.
“Jack, aren’t you going to ask about my budget or negotiate the price before agreeing? What if it doesn’t turn out to be profitable?”
That was classic Jack. His honesty always came through.
“No need,” Jack said.
“Why not?”
“Because I know you’ll have my back. Even if I don’t turn a profit, helping you keeps my company afloat, so
it’s a win–win.”
“Jack.” Miranda sighed. “You really need to be more cautious. It’s easy for people to take advantage of your trust.”
Unlike the cunning Leonard or the pretentious Rena, Jack was refreshingly down–to–earth. It reminded her of someone–Lionel. The resemblance was uncanny.
They agreed to meet up later that evening at the same restaurant to iron out the details.
After her class, Miranda headed there and happened to run into Paul. She gave him a quick wave before hurrying off.
