Paul remained silent while Silas continued, “You’re scared, Paul. You’re afraid that she’ll reject you once you bring everything out in the open. Then, the two of you can’t even remain friends. Isn’t that right?” 

Paul still didn’t reply. 

Silas frowned. “This isn’t like you. The Paul I know is sharp and decisive. He wouldn’t falter or back down just because of an uncertain outcome. 

“She said that she’s not considering it for now. It’s just temporary! People’s thoughts change. Just because she turned you down subtly back then doesn’t mean that she’d still push you away now, understand?” 

Paul was taken aback. 

Silas patted him on the shoulder. “Bro, someone else is going to swoop in if you keep hesitating. Then, you’ll definitely be crying in regret. 

“Miranda is really popular. Forget the two students who fought over her before. Look at the young man from today. He’s handsome, young, and energetic. He’s probably from a well–off family judging by his clothes…” 

“Shut up!” Paul snapped. 

Silas grinned to himself. Now Paul was feeling a sense of crisis. He was looking forward to seeing how panicked Paul would get! 

Miranda dropped off Fiona at the Garrison estate and handed the medicine to the butler. She gave him detailed instructions on its usage before driving off. 

Fiona wanted her to stay for dinner, but Miranda already had plans with Sebastian and Madison, “Grandma, I’ll come and visit you in a few days. I’ve already made plans with my classmates tonight.” 

“Alright, go ahead and do your thing!” Fiona said. 

When Miranda arrived at the restaurant, Sebastian and Madison were already seated. They were pointing at the cup of latte and chatting. Madison was talking nonstop, while Sebastian sat across from her. He was watching her intently and occasionally chiming in. 

“Seriously, this latte tastes off. It’s not nearly as good as the one from the store outside our campus gate!” Madison was complaining.

As Miranda signaled to the waiter to serve the dishes, she took a business card out of her bag and handed it to them. Madison took the card and glanced briefly. “Materials development? Chief expert?”
