Chapter 0986
In the evening, Miranda finally stepped down from the lab bench, removing her lab coat as
she went.
Madison exclaimed in surprise, “Miranda, are you leaving?”
“Yes.”
“This early?”
It wasn’t that she was overacting, but this was the first time for a workaholic like Miranda to leave work on time. What a rare sight.
Miranda smiled. “What kind of look is that? Is it that strange for me to leave on time?”
Yes, it was very strange.
“Miranda, do you have something to do?”
“Yeah,” she replied while putting on her coat. “A date, I suppose.
Madison was utterly dumbfounded. She still hadn’t recovered even after Miranda had disappeared from sight.
Sebastian waved a hand in front of her face. “Why are you spacing out? It’s time to leave.‘
Suddenly, Madison grabbed his hand. Sebastian froze in shock.

Then, she pinched him hard. The unexpected pain made him gasp sharply. “Ouch! What are you doing?”
“Does it hurt?”
“What do you think?” He chuckled in exasperation.
Miranda muttered, “So, I’m not dreaming…”
Sebastian was puzzled.
“When Miranda was leaving just now, I asked her where she was going. Do you know what she said?”
“What?”
“She said she’s going on a date! With who? Her ex–boyfriend? When did they get back together?” Madison asked.
Sebastian’s lips twitched. He didn’t look the least bit surprised when he replied, “It’s impossible for her to get back together with her ex. She’s probably going on a date with her current boyfriend.”
Madison’s eyes widened. “Current boyfriend? Are you saying Miranda has a boyfriend?”

“What’s so strange about that? Miranda’s not in primary school. Dating is perfectly normal.”
“Seb, do you actually know something?” Madison demanded.
Sebastian’s scalp prickled slightly when he met her eyes, which were burning with curiosity.
Two minutes later…
Madison’s jaw practically dropped to the floor with shock. “You, you… Are you sure you saw it clearly? Was your vision blurred? You didn’t hallucinate or imagine it, right?”
Sebastian smirked and said, “If you don’t believe me, go stake out at the entrance tomorrow.‘
Madison exclaimed, “Oh my god… Miranda and Dr. Jefferson? When did they get together? How did I miss the signs? I just said they weren’t a match yesterday. If they were going to get together, it would have happened ages ago.”
Sebastian remarked casually, “Are you sure there weren’t any signs? Or were there so many that we just got used to them?”
“That’s true! Miranda and Dr. Jefferson have always been close, but that doesn’t mean there’s anything between them. Like us, for example. We’re close friends, but does that mean I like you? Things don’t all work like that, right?”
