Chapter 210 

“Ugh-” Isabel gagged, then her pupils suddenly dilated as she quickly covered her mouth. 

Seeing Isabel’s reaction, Xander froze for a moment. After a brief shock, his gaze fixed on her lower abdomen, as if he was trying to see through her skin. 

He was all too familiar with this reaction, having seen it before on Yvette. 

He and Isabel had been intimate twice. The first time was in the rain one night, and afterward, Isabel had definitely taken the morning–after pill. 

The second time was not long ago, when Isabel, drunk, seduced him, and he took her right there in the car. 

When he thought about it, the timing seemed about right. 

At this thought, Xander couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. 

“Just some gas,” Isabel said, trying to sound casual. But her eyes betrayed her anxiety. 

Xander squinted, studying Isabel’s seemingly calm face. After a brief pause, he reached out and gently placed his hand on her lower abdomen. 

Isabel instinctively pulled away. 

Her reaction only fueled Xander’s growing suspicion. 

“I need to ask you something.” 

“What?” Isabel’s heart was pounding in her chest. 

“Suppose you get pregnant one day, would you keep it from me, like Yvette did?” Xander asked, his voice steady, but his dark eyes, reflecting Isabel’s image, were fixed on her with piercing intensity, capturing every detail of her reaction. 

Isabel’s pupils dilated slightly, and her expression shifted slightly–so subtle that even a keen observer might miss it. Yet inside, her mind was in turmoil, overwhelmed by shock. 

Why did he suddenly ask that? Did he remember what happened on that rainy night? 

Isabel quickly analyzed the situation, her mind racing. 

She thought Xander likely hadn’t remembered everything–just a few scattered fragments. If he had truly recalled everything, he wouldn’t have been so calm during this time. 

“Why would you ask something like that all of a sudden?” 

“I asked you first,” Xander said, his curiosity about the answer was obvious in his voice. 

Isabel frowned, unsure of how to respond to the question. 

“Well, it hasn’t happened. H–How would I know…” 

As she spoke, Isabel instinctively avoided meeting Xander’s gaze. 

Her actions, along with her unsure answer, only deepened Xander’s suspicions. 

Xander’s gaze returned to Isabel’s lower abdomen. If she was really pregnant, there was no way she’d tell him. 

Whether his suspicions were correct or not, he’d find out soon enough. 

Stop by the pharmacy ahead,” Xander said to Leo. 

Chapter 210 

Isabel turned to him, confused. “Why are we stopping at a pharmacy? Are you feeling unwell? 

“You said it was just gas, right? I’ll go get you some medicine,” Xander said, getting out of the car 

Isabel watched Xander walk into the pharmacy, then sighed in relief, gently tapping her chest. 

Thankfully, he believed it. 

Once inside the pharmacy, Xander first grabbed a bottle of antacid, and then picked up a pregnancy test. 

Staring at the test in his hand, he frowned. 

The test required urine, which he wasn’t sure how to collect. 

But it wasn’t like there was no solution. 

Xander called Samuel, instructing him to block the toilet in Isabel’s room and set up a temporary urinal in the bathroom. 

That way, if Isabel needed to get up during the night, she’d have no choice but to use the temporary urinal. 

Unaware of Xander’s plan, Isabel assumed he had simply gone to the pharmacy for her medicine. 

When Xander returned, he handed her the medicine without making any effort to watch her take it. 

Otherwise, she’d really be in a dilemma. 

If she didn’t take the medicine, Xander would start to suspect. 

But if she did, it would harm the babies. 

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Bennett residence. 

Ivana’s expression darkened upon seeing Isabel. 

She had never had a good impression of Isabel, especially after she had beaten Rachel so badly the last time. It was clear that she was now even more irritated to see Isabel. 

“Why did you bring her here?” Ivana’s voice was sharp with hostility. 

The atmosphere immediately grew tense. 

Rachel gently tugged on Ivana’s arm. “Ivana, please don’t be angry. I’ve thought about it, and I realize it wasn’t entirely Isabel’s fault. It was also my fault. At the time, I really thought she had stolen the emerald guardian angel pendant, which is why I took it from her.” 

Rachel wasn’t defending Isabel; she was intentionally bringing up the past.
