Ethan moved with blinding speed, subduing the attacker with a single powerful blow. The man crumpled to the floor, the knife clattering from his hand. In seconds, Ethan had him pinned, his knee pressing into the man’s back as he secured his wrists.

“Maxwell!” Ethan barked into his phone. “Get in here now. And bring Dr. Bennett.”

With the attacker secured, Ethan rushed to Emma’s side, his movements transforming from violent to gentle in an instant. He knelt beside her, his large hand carefully examining the wound.

“Daddy…” Emma whimpered, looking up at him with tear–filled eyes. “Emmy hurts so much. Is Emmy going to die?”
