"Like I said," Arthur piped in. "Giselle's wolves are powerful beings. Normal wolves would have fallen asleep completely after being cursed for so long. But Giselle's wolf has been struggling to fight it. That indicates the power it holds."

Halven nodded his head as he took in Arthur's words. He turned to me, a look of pride in his eyes. It was like I could completely read the look in his eyes.

He was proud of me and what I could achieve. Most of all, he believed I would be able to succeed at getting to the bottom of this.

"This proud character is really similar to Giselle." Arthur added, a small smile on his face.

I couldn't help the feeling of warmth that seemed to blossom in my chest. He really meant every word of it too.

This is my wolf. Of course, it's like me.

"Exactly."

That voice…It was the little girl again. Her voice had come back to my ears.

I looked around, trying to make sure I'd heard it correctly. There was no way it had just been my imagination. The girl's voice had popped into my head.

Everyone looked at me curiously as I whipped my head from side to side. I turned to them, wondering how they'd perceive what I was about to say.

"You guys heard that too right? The girl's voice?" I asked, hoping it wasn't that I was going crazy.

Froste simply blinked, a small look of concern in his eyes. The only person that gave a reaction was Arthur.

His eyes widened in shock as he stared at me. "It can't be."

I watched as he hurriedly crossed the room and pulled out one of his enormous books. His eyes raced through the lines of words on the page as he read through it.

"What's wrong?" I asked, making my way to him.

"One moment." He raised a hand to me, his other finger running through the lines on the page. I remained silent as he continued to flip through more of his books.

Halven's wolf slowly approached me. I watched its eyes carefully, wondering if it was going to lunge at me in some way.

It wouldn't be a stretch to assume that it could happen. It took all my willpower to remain rooted where I stood. To my surprise, the wolf stopped just a small distance away from my feet.

"What's happening?" Askhan asked to nobody in particular.

I held my breath as the wolf slowly lowered its head to the ground. It was submitting to me, the reason for this gesture being something I was still yet to understand.
