ROSE

When I wake up, I keep my eyes closed for a while, but then I remember where I am and open my eyes. Today, my search for Mia begins.

I get up and get dressed in my training leggings, which have four pockets, a long Tank top, and a hoodie tied around my waist. When I am dressed, I take on my sneakers. I put my phone in one pocket and the new map in another, and then I grab my bag and walk downstairs. I find Kate and Kyle in the kitchen already.

“You know, being on vacation, you are allowed to sleep in,” I say and giggle

“We wanted to make sure you had breakfast and a hug before you leave,” Kate says, setting a plate on the table with eggs, bacon, bread, and some fruit.

“Thank you,” I say as I sit down and eat.

“Alpha Leo asked me to give you this number and tell you that if you need anything, you can call him. He would appreciate it if you could send him a text so that he has your number in case he finds out more for you.” Kyle says, and I nod my head.

“Yes, it is a good idea. I will do it right away,” I tell him, then find my phone and send a text message.

I clicked send, and put my phone back into my pocket and ate my food before getting up.

“I should get started,” I say and they also stand up, and follow me outside, and Kate hands me a small bag.

“I packed a few sandwiches and a bottle of water. But also a few chocolate bars.” She tells me and smiles at me.

“Thank you, and thank you both for coming here with me. You are making it easier to begin this,” I say and give Kate and Kyle a hug.

“You are welcome, sweetheart,” Kyle says.

I smile again at both of them and then I turn around and start walking. I had studied the road I was going to take for most of the day.

I have walked for a good four and a half hours, so I sit down and take a break, drinking some water and eating half of one of my sandwiches. I look at the map and the towns Alpha Leo had highlighted, and I am headed to one of the smaller ones. It is a town where only wolves live, so I should be able to find some rest there.

When I reached the town, I was surprised to find that it was just a small, quiet place. It is nice and calm here. I walk down what is the main street. I stop when I hear someone say my name.
