NOAH

“Did you say her mate rejected her?” Kendra ask.

“Yes, and beaten up afterward to make her it,” I explain.

“I don’t feel a wolf, and her bruises are not healing,” Kendra says carefully.

“She never had one,” Dad says, and Kendra looks at him with questions in her eyes.

“Her mom is human, and her dad is half-human. In the Silverstone family, when my dad's dad was a teenager, they had a son who had a human mate. All their kids got wolves. One of them was a boy. It must be her dad. I know he had kids, two boys, and a girl. The girl showed no sign of having any of our senses.” Dad explains.

“Okay, yes, it must be her. And sadly that doesn’t make any of this better. Humans have less chance to survive a rejection when done directly. Most of the time, wolves reject a human Nate. They do it without the humans' knowledge. Simply because they, most of the time, don’t know our world and don’t know what pain means. They move on quicker and don’t know what they lost.” Kendra explained.

“This girl, she grew up with us. She has seen the matebond a thousand times. She knows what she was losing,” Kendra finishes.

“Anything you can do?” Dad asks.

“Not much I am afraid, I will ask she get moved to the hospital. And her family needs to be notified.” Kendra says.

“I will call for someone to come bring her there, and then I will talk to Luca’s Dad so he can tell her parents,” Dad answers.

Both Dad and Kendra go into a mindlink, and I assume Dad contacts Luc's father and Kendra at the Hospital. Dad comes out of a mindlink and into another, which only takes a few seconds.

“Maja’s family will come to the hospital, and transport for her is on its way,” Dad says.

“Thank you, my king. And you, my King, did a very good thing saving her. Remember that, no matter the outcome, you did save her.” Kendra tells me. And I nod my head.

“Thank you, Kendra,” Mom says. And Kendra bows her head in respect.

It doesn’t take long before the wolves transporting Maja to the hospital are here, and Kendra leaves with them. Dad told her we would be there soon, and I am happy he said that. I want to know what will happen. Knowing this could have been my loving sister a few years ago when her first Mate rejected her.
