Dad had called me to the office, and when I got there, I saw Enzo was there too, so I sat down. I had felt something bad in the true king's powers.

I know it sounds strange and unbelievable, but somehow, I have a connection to the werewolf world. No matter where in the world it is, it’s like I can feel if something needs my attention. I still work on getting to know how to use it. And when I say use it, I mean to understand what and where.

“Sit down,” Dad tells us, and we do and wait for what he wants to say.

“France is reporting more rouge attacks, small ones, but happen more often. They also hear that many of the rouges are not French but Italian. Alpha Alexander and Leonardo have reported that many of Alpha Carlos’s supporters have left Italy.” Dad tells us.

“Yes, they told us when we were down there,” I say, and Dad nods his head.

“Yes. Many of them know Alpha Louis helped with the paternity test. So might be revenge.” Enzo says, and Dad nods his head again.

“Yes, it might very well be. I say we send some warriors over there to help and see what happens. Matt has an officer among his warriors whom he trusts, and he can trust him to send him as the leading wolf. And Matt will go with make sure they are all set and then come home again.” Dad agrees.

“And what if it is not enough?” I ask, and Dad looks at me with his trained eyes.

“If it is not enough, we all go. It has been almost a year since your shift. Since what happened with Maja, your lycan has calmed down. So we need to plan the ball that should have been last year.” He answers. And I know not to disagree, but it does anyway.

“I don’t care about some ball, Dad. Some things are more important,” I say, and I get surprised when it isn’t Dad who answers.

“But your people do. They need to see their true king.” Mom says as she comes inside the office.

“They need to see you there, to feel it. If the king over all kings and leaders hide, they will get worried, even afraid.” Mom continues, and I know not to disagree with her.

Mom is a little wolf, but she is the strongest and most badass wolf there has ever been. Even most men fear her. She has a special power, but it nearly killed her using it, so Dad forbids her to. And she chose to obey it and always said she didn’t want to risk leaving us all alone.

“Fine, but then invite Alpha Louis and show the attackers that we are on his side,” I say, and Mom smiles.

“That is a good idea,” Mom says, kissing my head and leaving. I roll my eyes, and Dad and Enzo laugh.
