VLADIMIR

“Do you really trust them?” Bradley asks. Kenny is hiding from the sun in the basement.

“I wasn’t sure I would be able to when I first made these plans. But meeting having met them, then yes, I do.” I answer honestly.

“They do seem honorable and trustworthy.” He admits.

“I think they are, and I don’t think the king would have shown us the new chamber if he didn’t take a chance and trust us. He told us how to do it even if we could not open it. And it wouldn’t be hard to retrieve a finger. That, in my eyes, shows he wants to trust us, which makes me trust him. None of us want that rouge to make mixed breeds by force.” I say and look at him.

“No, we don’t,” Bradley says.

“I don’t expect you to become friends with them or even to trust them the way I do. But I expect you to follow my order and to be respectful so we will be working together.” I say, and Bradley bows his head.

“I will, sir, promise.” He says, just as a knock sounds on the door. And I stand up to open it.

“Sir.” Bradley starts but I stop him.

“Sit back down,” I answer, go to the door, and open it.

A woman we have not met before stands outside, but out of the aura coming from her, I know that this must be the queen.

“Hello, Your Highness.” I greet her respectfully.

“Hello, My mate told me you are here until nightfall, as one of your companions can’t handle the sun. The day in this area can be long, so I have prepared some food for you all. Some red meat. And I got a blood bag for each of you.” She says, as a smaller wolf, a man offered me a tray.

“That is very generous and not expected. But we thank you.” I tell her as I take the tray.

“I assure you no one has touched the food.” She says, and even if she says it like this, I know what she really wants to say is that it is not poisoned.

“Thank you. It didn’t even cross my mind, and I am just happy that your mate is willing to work with us,” I say, and she smiles. She is a marvelous woman, and it’s no wonder that everyone knows about her in the supernatural world.

“If you need anything, use the phone and call this number.” She says, giving me a piece of paper.

“We will, but I am sure we will be fine. Thank you.” I say, and she bows her head before turning around and leaves.

The meat was good, but the blood bags were the best for us. And I can see that Bradley begins to relax. And I know he can see what I do, allies. And maybe they can help to save his daughter.
