I softly sing along to the music that plays through my headphones as I try and erase whatever I just saw out of my memory, prepping myself to go see Charity after the long day, I could use a hug from my care-bear. A grateful sigh leaves my lips as I reach our small apartment complex, I hurry inside, practically running up the stairs (and almost tripping twice) before opening the door to apartment 05.
"Ammy?" My angels voice rings out before I get knocked back by her small arms wrapping round my thighs. I look down at my five year old sister with a smile on my face as I tuck her golden locks behind her ears, staring into her contrasting eyes, identical to mine.
"Hey Angel cakes, what's Libby cooking?" I question referring to my best friend and Charity's babysitter, she always wanted to be a chef, I always joke about how she's the perfect wife, she has a killer body, a gorgeous face and she cooks, I'm surprised no one has snatched her up yet, she's every mans dream.
"Spaghetti," she squeals jumping off me and running into the kitchen, I quickly follow in suit, "Heyyyyy bi-," I stop her from speaking the devils language, looking down at Charity, before back at her with pointed eyes, of which she rolls before placing a plate of pasta in front of us. "There's this party Saturday night," Libby states flipping her long brunette hair behind her back, she was blessed with pin straight hair, that doesn't get frizzy and matted after a rainy day, unlike me.
"Nope, I couldn't go even if I wanted to, what would Indo with Charity also you al-," I'm cut off by a sigh that escapes her lips, "If you'd just let me finish, it's a fancy schmancy party being hosted by this guy called Lance, kids can come too, it's being held in the town museum you have to wear fancy dresses and it sounds like such an amazing experience," Libby finishes catching Charitys attention.
"I wanna go, can we go? pweaseeeee ammy?" she pleads giving me her signature puppy face, I close my eyes with a huff as I look over at libby, "We don't even have anything to wear," I point out, to which Libby hands me a wad of cash, "I'm not taking your money," I say pointedly,
"Yes you are, tomorrow, we are going shopping," She squeals grabbing Charitys hand, "I didn't even- and they're gone," looks like we are going to some ball.
'I would rather spend one lifetime with you, then face all the ages of the world alone'
I gasp in shock as she takes us to victoria secret, claiming 'just cause no one will see it doesn't mean we don't need it' I basically covered Charitys eyes the whole way through the store, she doesn't need to get any ideas. Libby ended up forcing me to try on a few sets, so I chose a plain white one, a lacy pink one and another lacy blue one, all of which Libby forcefully pays for.
"Finally," Charity huffs as we enter a store filled with ballroom gowns, I wander around the shop with Charity by my side, before spotting a small off white dress, one of the shoulders is covered by a long sleeve with a bow on the tip while the other is free, a glittery pattern ends at the waist where a ribbon is tied before poofing out into a princess style bottom, "Care Bear?" I call to my sister as she looks at other items, a frown on her face.
She quickly scurries over before a gasp escapes her lips, "It's so pretty," she squeals as she feels the fabric, meanwhile I check the tag, I swear I almost faint at the price, I have no where near enough money for it, "Are you gonna get this one Char?" I hear Libby question as she makes an a appearance, my sister nods excitedly before going over to the shoes, "Libs, I can't afford anything in hear, this is triple the amount I have," I say showing her the price tag,
"And I told you not to bring anything cause I'm paying for you," She states before calling over someone working at the store along with Charity, "You go look for yourself," She says to me before explaining she wants to buy the dress to the worker. I sigh before walking around for a while longer. My eyes manage to trail to a long pink dress, tightly wrapped around a manakin.
