Sophia was hospitalized for two days. Even though the doctor asked her to stay for two more days, but when she looked at the bill, she immediately discharged herself even though she was suffering from a fever.
The pay in Dream Club was not too bad. However, after subtracting her basic expenses for the month, she did not have much left. She needed to save this money for a rainy day.
Back then, she had thought that money was the source of all evil. However, she felt that cold hard cash was extremely important after she got sick.
When she got back to the employee’s dormitory, she was the only one in the room that housed four people. It was not the time for their shifts, so she did not know where the others were. Maybe it was because she was still suffering from a fever, so she felt dizzy after changing her clothes. She held the locker next to her to support herself.
Then, she heard footsteps coming toward her. Suddenly, she was pushed away forcefully. Her lower back hit the desk behind her. She grunted from the dull pain.
Megan did not expect Tiffany Lawrence to push Sophia like that. She jumped up from the shock. When she came back to her senses, she noticed that Sophia’s face had turned white. She walked over immediately and helped her up. “Tiffany, what are you doing? Are you okay, Sophia?”
Sophia shook her head with her face as white as a sheet. “I’m fine…”
“You’re fine, but I’m not. You’re a murderer, and you’re touching my locker. Are you trying to do something to our lockers when we’re not here?”
“I…” Sophia did not have time to react. She lifted her head to look at Tiffany who was looking down on her. She understood everything immediately. That incident had caused such a commotion in the club. She figured that the entire club must have already knew about her incarceration.
The expected embarrassment washed over her. She lowered her eyes and explained softly, “I held your locker to support myself because I felt dizzy. I didn’t do anything, don’t worry.”
“God knows. I’m scared that I’ll die an unexplained death one day from living with a murderer like you.”
“Enough. We’ve hung out with each other for half a month. Aren’t you just fine?” Megan glared at her. When she turned around, she saw an unhealthy red tint on Sophia’s abnormally pale face. She reached out her hand and touched her forehead. “Ah! You got discharged when you’re still burning up? Why didn’t you stay in the hospital longer?”
“It’s just a cold, it’s nothing serious…”
“Pah, why are you still pretending?” Tiffany retorted. She checked her locker again before slamming the door to leave. “I’m telling the person in charge that I want to change my dorm. It’s so disgusting staying with a person like this.”
