Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 214 Harris, Don’t Be Too C*cky!. Let's read the author's Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! Internet story right here.
“Sterling was asking me when I’m leaving tonight. He wants to visit the place where I’m staying now.” Sophia grabbed the hem of her skirt, a slight tremor in her voice.
Charles raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Sophia swallowed unnaturally, her heartbeat wild and deafening in her ears.
What was that supposed to mean?
“Harris, don’t be too cocky!” Sterling glared at Charles with his bloodshot eyes. “Even if Sophia is your girlfriend, there’s no need for her to tell you everything she told me! She’s a human, not your pet!”
Charles glanced at him mildly, his eyes dark and fathomless. “Besides shouting, what else can you do?”
“That’s none of your business!” Sterling gritted.
Charles snorted softly, “Good-for-nothing.”
“Who’s a good-for-nothing? I dare you to say that again…” Sterling never had a good impression of Charles. Even if a strand of his hair fell on the ground, Sterling felt it would affect his mood greatly.
“Be quiet!” Nicole covered his mouth and chastised before turning to look at Charles, “Sterling drank some wine just now. I think he’s a bit drunk.”
Sterling wanted to struggle, but when he saw Sophia’s furrowed brows, he snorted and pushed Nicole’s hand away, and fell silent with a sullen face.
“I don’t know when I’ll be leaving tonight.” Sophia continued with the act and said, “Besides, Sterling’s injuries are not fully healed yet. It’s okay to visit another day.”
Sterling glared at Charles’s face and hummed his assent with an ugly expression.
“Mr. White and Madam White have looked in this direction several times. Sterling and Nicole should go and accompany them.” Sophia was afraid that her brother might accidentally reveal some things if he continued to stay.
Obviously, Nicole agreed with her sentiments. “Before coming, they mentioned that they will introduce some people to us. Sophia, we’ll take our leave then.”
Sophia nodded.
Nicole pushed Sterling away, but Sterling kept glancing back at her from his wheelchair.
“You’re just apart for a little while but your brother already misses you so much. He seems to be exceptionally concerned about you today.” Charles stared at Sterling’s back. Sophia was unsure if she had imagined it, but the word ‘exceptionally’ seemed to be emphasized by Charles.
With a thud of her heartbeat, Sophia’s arms hung weakly on both sides. “My brother has always been good to me, unlike some people, blowing hot and cold all the time.”
Charles looked down at her. The sunlight came in through the window, casting a shadow on his shirt collar.
“What, am I wrong?” Sophia looked up at him, beads of sweat forming on her nose.
Charles’s throat tightened at the sight of her. He stretched out his hand and pushed the unruly hair from her forehead behind her ears. “I won’t do that again.”
Sophia frowned, not used to this sort of intimate behavior. She took a few steps back and stood about one meter away from him.
Their eyes clashed but no one spoke, and time seemed to stop at this moment.
“I’ve found you at last!” An arm slung over Sophia’s shoulder and long fingernails pierced into her skin. “You b*tch!”
Sophia turned around and saw Tiffany Lawrence behind her, dressed as a bride, her exquisitely made-up face full of triumph and menace.
