Charles turned around as he pulled Sophia back to the house. “Perfect, then.”

The bodyguards trailed behind them whereas the military personnel who had brought Charles back remained standing guard outside the manor.

“Weren’t you taken away by the SWAT team? Why are you brought back by the military?” Sophia looked up at him and asked.

“When there’s something to gain, anyone would want to be involved.” Charles seemed reluctant to elaborate. “Have you eaten? Do you want me to cook something for you?”

Since he did not want to talk about it, Sophia did not press on.

After all, the team of bodyguards was right behind them watching their every move and listening to their every word.

“I have already eaten. What about you, are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?” Sophia asked.

“Just a little bit but you don’t have to worry. I just want to take a shower first and I’ll make something for myself.” Hand in hand, they entered the house and she led her to the sofa to rest so he could head upstairs to shower and freshen up.

However, Sophia followed him instead of sitting down.

“What is it?” Charles stroked her face, only to realize how cold she was. His heart winced as he cupped her face, using both his palms to warm her cheeks up.

Sophia wrapped her arms around his neck as she stood on the tip of her toes and bit his lip. “I want to join you in the shower.”

She lowered her voice and gave him an inviting look, trying her best to seduce him.

They had not gotten the chance to be intimate ever since she had gotten pregnant.

Charles stared at her red lips intently as his throat rumbled. He felt an impish jolt surging through his body, rushing toward his lower abdomen.

His eyes lit up and he felt his body flush with heat, but a quick glance at the almost unnoticeable bump on her stomach was enough to force himself to push her arm away. “No.”

He could not guarantee that he could control himself if they showered together.

Charles was about to turn and leave when Sophia pulled him from behind. Her hands went around his neck as she jumped on his back.

“You’re a mother now, you should be more careful yourself.” Worried that she would fall, his hands instinctively went to support her body.

He felt her breasts pressing against his body and his grip around her thigh hardened. It was as if there was a fire burning in his body and he was about to explode.

Sophia wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her chin on his shoulder as she whispered into his ear, “Charles, I want to shower with you.”

As she spoke, she deliberately brushed her lips on Charles’ earlobe. His ears flushed red all the way to his neck as she felt his breath hitched.

“You’re still in your first trimester, let’s not act rashly.” Charles was not wearing much. When the SWAT team came to his office the other day, everything happened so quickly that he did not even get the chance to grab his coat.

However, he was sweating so much right now that his shirt was almost drenched. Sweat beaded his forehead as well.

Sophia was amused when she saw this, but at the same time, her heart ached. She helped him wipe away the sweat as she lowered her voice to say, “It’s alright, there are other ways that I can help you out. We tried it before too, didn’t we?”

Charles remained quiet as his face was still calm and collected as usual. She lowered her gaze and sneaked a glance at his crotch before leaning in to kiss his neck.

“Stop it, don’t kiss me!” Charles’ breathing became even more labored and he quickly pushed her head away.

Why was she so clingy today?

Sophia leaned on his shoulder and giggled coquettishly. “I have kissed you almost everywhere, why are you being so shy?”

The couple was not exactly talking quietly, and the strange look on the bodyguards’ faces proved that they heard everything loud and clear.

Charles freed an arm and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt. Without saying anything else, he carried her upstairs.

The bodyguards followed suit, but before they even took a step forward, Charles turned to them and said coldly, “Stay downstairs.”
