Ryn's pov
"Ryn!" Ace frantically yells. The sound of his boots hitting the floor was getting closer. My mouth opened to answer but nothing comes out.
I pushed myself into a sitting position and watch as Ace sprints towards me but freezes when he notices Robert's dead body beside me, bleeding out. With shaky hands I push myself off the floor and stand up.
I stared at Ace in regret. Even though Robert deserved it, he still was the one who had raised him. Ace wasn't a heartless man everyone thought he was. I could tell it hurt him to see the man he once called father now dead at the hands of his girlfriend.
"I'm sorry Ace, I'm so sorry that I killed him." My voice coming out shaky, I gulped all of a sudden feeling my throat parched.
He finally lets his eyes move away from Robert to look at me. Nothing had changed in the way he peered at me. I could still see the love in his eyes but there was another emotion, grief.
He nods in understanding and proceeds towards me at a much slower pace. He stops before me and pulls my body into a hug. "It's okay Ryn, he deserved it. You killing him didn't make me love you any less."
I let out a sigh of relief at his words. And clutched his body to mine. He uses his hands to pull me away a bit and stares at me with those beautiful orbs of his. "Are you okay, did he hurt you?" He questioned pulling away entirely as he scans my body. His eyes zoomed in on my wounded arm and his jaw clenches.
I nodded and looked around. "I'm fine, it doesn't hurt as much. Where's Becca and what happened to the Jace guy?" I asked.
He sighs. "I've been looking everywhere for you and Becca, I just so happen to find you first. And about that Jace guy he's dead, probably swimming with the fishes." He snorts.
The police sirens were getting louder and I knew they had arrived here. I looked at Robert's body and let out a sigh. I would be in trouble for killing him, but at the moment I didn't care that I would be taken into custody.
Ace walks pass me and stoops beside Robert's body. He tears a cloth from his shirt and uses it to wipe the end of the knife where I had held it. Seeing this my eyes widen and I pranced towards him. "What are you doing?" I hissed as he touches the knife.
He smirks, stands up and bends down to give me a kiss. "I love you Ryn, wait for me will you?" He questions staring at me directly in my eyes. My brows furrowed in confusion. What did he mean by wait for him?
I was about to tell him my confusion at his words when Nate comes running towards us with Becca in his hands. "Put me down Nate I can walk!" She argues. But instead of complying to her he pulls her more into him.
"Ryn, oh thank god you're safe!" He cries out when he nears me. He places Becca gently on the floor and pulls me into a hug. I groan and wince when pain shoots up into my arms by his actions.
He lets go swiftly and glares at my injuries. "How could you let yourself get hurt?" He questions worriedly.
"I'm not a robot Nate, mind you there were many men with weapons here whilst I had a single fucking knife. I can say I did well don't you think." I said and pointed at Robert's dead body that he and Becca failed to notice.
His eyes widen. "This is Robert Reed?" He asked in shock.
I nodded and let out a laugh when Becca cheers. "Finally this asshole is dead, I'd rather it be at my hands though." She laughs out.
Nate brings his eyes to stare at Ace and I. "Who killed him?" He questions. I could hear the voices of the officers nearing and I gulped.
"I did." Ace spoke up before I could. My head swiftly snaps to him and I stared at him in shock. I opened my mouth to argue but he shakes his head in warning.
"Ace please." I pleaded. I knew what it meant if he confessed that he did. They would lock him up for years more than they would do to me.
His eyes held warning as the officers came into view. "I did Ryn, my fingerprints are on the knife." He states without an ounce of emotion.
"Brother-" Becca whispers in fear.
Ace turns towards her and smile. "I'll be fine Becca just do one thing for me would you?"
She nods and he smirks then points a finger in Nate's direction. "Don't let that fool turn you into a mushy girly girl. That just won't look good on you." He laughs when both Becca and Nate glare at him.
