Epilogue novel Badboy Ace

"Mommy do you think we'll make friends?" Blake asked me as we walked up the steps to the elementary school.
I clutched on to his tiny hands and stared at his cute little face that was the exact replica of Ace. I let out a laugh and shift my eyes to Ryan who clings to Becca's hand. Today was their first day in elementary school and I was finding it hard to know that he was slowly growing up.
"Of course you guys will. Anyone will be happy to be y'all friend." I responded truthfully. Becca nods in agreement as she holds on to her son and opens the front doors of the school.
I had found out I was pregnant with Blake after two months of his dad being in prison. It really wasn't a shock since I knew we had unprotected sex in the cabin.
Becca had found out she was expecting her first child with Nate a few months after I did. It took months until they confessed that they were seeing each other. It wasn't a surprise when two years ago they had gotten married. They loved each other dearly.
I had been so depressed after they had taken Ace to prison that I hadn't come out of the apartment I was renting for weeks. It was really hard to know that I wouldn't be able to see or talk to him until he gets out.
They had forbidden me to have any connection to him whilst he was in prison. I didn't care how long it took but all I knew was that I'd wait for him no matter how long it would take.
Blake tugs at my hand bringing me back to reality. I looked at him and smiled. "What's wrong baby?" I asked him as we entered the building. He really hadn't taken anything from me other than his lips, everything else was strictly his dad, not that I was complaining.
His beautiful orbs that were identical to Ace's stares at me. I never knew I could love someone so much that it physically hurt. He was after all my baby. "Can I go to aunt Becca's and uncle Nate's house after school to play with Ryan?" He pouts knowing that I couldn't say no at this face.
I looked at Becca in question and she smiles. "Of course you can, I'll bring you back home at six." She says and giggles as the two boys jump up and down.
We entered the classroom and the first thing we noticed was the teacher that was swarmed by the children. She looked beautiful with her blonde hair and slim frame. She talked cheerily with the kids and waved when she noticed us.
We returned it wholeheartedly and walked further in. Another tug from Blake has me looking at him in question. "Mommy look, a pretty girl." He says loudly and points at a little girl with loose curly black hair. She was hiding behind her mother's leg seeming to be shy. She was indeed pretty with those unique eyes of hers.
I let out a shocked gasp as Blake let go of my hands and sprints towards the little girl. Her mother looks equally as shocked as I did before she sends him a friendly smile.
I swiftly walked towards them, feeling utterly embarrassed at Blake's sudden behavior. "Sorry." I apologized to her. She looked fairly young probably just a few years younger than I. She was beautiful and I could see where her daughter had inherited those eyes of hers.
She laughs and shakes her head. "It's fine, your son is really handsome." She compliments.
"Thank you-" I started but waited for her to say her name.
"Lily Collins." She says and stretches her hands out for a hand shake. I take it in my hands and smile at her. "I'm Ryn Waters." I informed her and let her hand go.
I bring Blake to my side. "And this little trouble maker here is my son Blake. I think he's fascinated by your daughter." I laughed and watch the pretty girl peek her head out from behind her mother's leg. She sends Blake a smile before hiding behind her mother's leg again causing Lily and I to laugh at her.
"Sorry Ashley is a bit shy, she doesn't really speak to anyone. I think she got it from me." She laughs and pulls Ashley away from her legs.
Blake stares at little Ashley and beams. "We'll be best of friends, come I'll show you my other friend." He says and before any of us could speak, he grabs her little hands in his and pulls her along with him to Ryan. She doesn't protests as she follows him smiling shyly.
"Wow I'm surprised." Lily says as she stares at her daughter fondly.
I stare at her embarrassed at Blake's behavior. He was never one to act this way. "I'm so sorry he's never this way." I apologized.
Lily looks at me and laughs. "It's fine really I have never seen her so comfortable with someone other than her little brother and cousins."
I nodded while looking at the three kids who were laughing and talking giddily. They looked like they were getting along. I smiled at her and nodded in understanding. "It was nice meeting you Ryn, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other. I must be going on my way to drop my son to daycare. I swear his dad is a bigger baby than he is and can never get him ready on time." She laughs and waves bye.
