Willy looked up, a jerk. What was he proposing?

"The Luther family does have an older young lady, but she is very mysterious; very few have ever mentioned her even. Some say that her family doesn't like her, but others say she's very shielded as she's the first wife's daughter; not even the members of the Luther family can get accurate information. One thing's for sure, though, this Yesmine is quite mysterious; not many have seen her! The first young lady of the Luther family whom none had ever seen suddenly appearing in public like that..."

However, Lexx had a nagging feeling that something wasn't right, pausing.

There was only one famous Luther family, and their influence was unparalleled. With a unique circle plus an exclusive news source, nothing about them could be hidden from them. Also, Elijah didn't seem like someone they could mess with. They really didn't dare check out that family too outright lest they wanted unnecessary trouble.

What I'm trying to say is, what if the first young lady of the Luther family has some undisclosed condition or that she had suddenly passed, or even that they need a first young lady like her to be in public? It's not impossible to find a double, and an orphan is the best choice! I'm sure it's nothing for the Luther family to perfectly create a flawless, legal, and untraceable identity! Of course, it's only my guess, and possibly something else we have no idea of, or that Miss Yesmine and Miss Heady are doppelgangers! The main thing is still to distinguish, no?"

Inspired, Lexx blurted out his thoughts, rambling, only hoping that someone could go back to being his usual self and not depressed one day and livid the other, rendering them jumpy as well.

In an instant, Willy was alive again, his posture straightened. "You're right!"

"Check her schedule for me. I want to treat her to a meal!"

Meanwhile, just when Lauren was becoming hesitant from all the waiting, she knew she had gotten the upper hand when she received the phone call.

She showed up on time at the grand hotel at seven that Saturday. The upscale design and service reflected its taste and grandeur.

Entering the private room on the second floor, she looked around to see it was decorated extravagantly yet romantic. Feeling the luscious, fully blooming roses on the table aside, she smirked, knowing they'd been freshly hand-picked.

The server left after pouring her some water.

The massive space exuded luxury and solemn, but it only got her hatred surging once more. Was this the so-called true face of a man? The unattainable and the lost would forever live in their hearts?

How ironic! He had never made such an effort to take her out for dinner when she gave him her whole heart then, but now he was doing so for some 'doppelganger'?

Just as she was immersed in her thought, a familiar male voice came from behind. "Sorry, I'm late."

Turning back, Lauren faintly smiled while checking her watch. "It's alright, Master Bowels; I arrived early!"

It was seven sharp!

While she looked away, her heart ached. Men sure were sc*mbags! He had never been so punctual on their dates, ever!

And it proved that no matter how busy a man was, they could accommodate if he wanted to!

But she felt uncomfortable the more he behaved so.

Putting the wine glass down, she reached for the cake. As she ate, she was all smiles despite the bitterness within.

The way she enjoyed and indulged, especially how she pulled out the fork with pursed lips, was so much like Lauren. His gaze turned glassy, more lost. Her brazen action got him feeling disappointed.

"You have a sweet tooth, don't you, Miss Tevye?"

"Is there anything wrong with it?" she retorted and stuffed another piece of cake in her mouth. "Don't

most women do?"

But she actually didn't what to have any of it right then, even loathing that assortment of cake!

"Not at all! Let's eat! The food is getting cold..."

They barely spoke for the rest of the dinner. Lauren ate as her thoughts distracted her while Willy had nearly been holding his glass of wine, watching her. Her every action and eating habit was very much like Lauren's. But as he put his wine glass down, he was still split right in the middle.
