Hints of hostility suddenly burst from Cloud's lifeless eyes.

"Willy!"

Though Willy and Lauren came out for some fresh air, they didn't dare stay outside for too long. Hearing the commotion behind them just as they hugged, they paused and then frowned.

"Ignore her. Let's go back inside!"

After nudging Lauren inside, Willy locked the door shut. They returned to Yvette's bedside, keeping vigil like they had been all this while. Lauren shared the bed with Yvette while Willy rested on the empty bed aside.

Meanwhile, the bodyguards stopped Cloud from advancing as she screamed with incredulity out in the corridor. But they muffled her mouth after two screams and shoved her into the elevator, chucking her straight back to where the general wards were placed. The bodyguards didn't leave the elevator nor even blinked.

Cloud choked with sobs after falling onto the ground with a thud.

"Ah..."

Why did he treat her like this? He used to help her out so much; why abandon her now? Why won't he come and see her child? Her Dory was so sick that she couldn't even speak clearly anymore!

It must be that woman. She must be the reason he became so heartless!

Lauren and Willy spent most of their time in the hospital in the following two days. Yvette was doing well herself; her condition stabilized after two patches despite still looking sluggish.

The couple took Yvette for another round of physical examinations that day, and the doctor finally gave the all-clear.

"She's okay now; she can be discharged today! Her constitution is quite good. If her condition maintains, I suggest you stop giving her medication. Just make sure she stays warm and get her to exercise more to build up her constitution. Bring her over as soon as you can if she clearly feels pain or has a high fever. Take note of her temperature for the next seven days. Everything's fine if she doesn't catch a fever..."

Still a little worried, Lauren asked as she fixed Yvette's hair, carrying her in her arms. "Do we really not need to let her stay for another two days, Doctor? Why does she still look sluggish?"
