That night, Frederick had been driving and running around. He was exhausted. After taking a shower, he went straight to bed.

Tiredness welled up in him. He carefully held her in his arms and his heart seemed to calm down in an instant. Before he closed his eyes, he lowered his head and kissed her on her forehead.

He mumbled, "Sorry..."

Alicia didn't know whether she was hallucinating. Until a steady breathing sound could be heard, she slowly opened her eyes again, in a trance for some reason.

She didn't know if it was because she had slept too much during the day or that she was devastated., she had insomnia that night.

The next day, when Frederick opened his eyes, he was holding a pillow in his arms. The bed was empty!

He stretched his arms as he let go of the pillow. All of a sudden, he felt empty in his heart. It seemed that it was Alicia's first time getting up earlier than he did!

Only when he hot up did he found that the sun was already shining brightly. It was almost nine o'clock!

No wonder she was gone!

It was rare for him to sleep so deeply. It seemed that lighting the incense the night before had helped him effectively! Without thinking too much, he took a shower and went to work.

The next two days, Frederick was busy and Alicia had been heading out early and returning home late. They rarely met, let alone speak.

She couldn't go on like this. In less than two months, she would be forced to loan money. When she thought of her father in the hospital, she felt a wave of pain in her heart.

She logged in to Whatsapp and sent a few messages to Victoria. They chatted for a while before Alicia bluntly told her the purpose of texting her.

[What a pity! I know you liked that design brochure a lot. I'll keep an eye on it for you if there's another chance! I'll let you know if there is any part-time job or a job with a high salary!]

Maybe God was fair after all! If meeting Lindsay was her greatest disaster, then the reunion with Victoria made Alicia feel that Victoria was here to save her!
