"Miss Blanchard, please don't be like this. Anyway, your father is in a good condition! You should be happy! The medical treatment needs to be done one step at a time. Sometimes, it's not a good thing if one recovers too quickly as it might be abnormal."

She kept nodding, but Alicia was already choked with sobs. Just moments ago, she really thought that her father would wake up!

"Your father's current situation shows that he can perceive the outside world. Maybe some parts of his body are still hindering him, thus he can't wake up completely. Once he breaks through it, he can recover naturally. The illness could come overwhelmingly and the healing takes time. The patient has recovered very well up till now! Only your persistence can create a miracle for the patient! As long as you don't give up, there is still hope!"

"Thank you, Doctor. I know, I won't give up..."

Maybe she had been too worked up, thus when she went out of the hospital, Alicia still couldn't stop crying. She squatted down on the road and cried uncontrollably again.

Just as Marshall got out of his car, he saw her and ran over with a few big strides. "Alicia, what's wrong?"

Marshall stretched out his hand and wanted to help her up.

Looking up, Alicia stood up with tears in her reddened eyes. Looking at him, she was still sobbing but she had an alert face.

"Don't be afraid, I mean no harm! Why are you here alone? Is there something wrong? Tell me and I'll see if I could help."

Seeing that she was crying pitifully and her face was a little dirty, Marshall took out his clean handkerchief and wanted to wipe it for her subconsciously. However, Alicia thought that he wanted to take the opportunity to accost her or to take advantage of her, therefore she took a step back instantaneously.

"It's none of your business. You are so nosy!"

With a roar, she turned around and ran away.

After a pause, Marshall was in a trance for a long time. Then, he pinched his face and mumbled, "Do I look like a bad person?"

God knew that this was his first time taking the initiative to get close to a woman!

"Is this woman blind?"

It was clear that he was being despised, but somehow, Marshall's eyes were still fixed on her. After a while, he saw a white Bentley heading out...

"I didn't realize that she's a rich woman!" He chuckled.

No wonder she had such a temperament and was so cocky! At first glance, she seemed to have a hot-temper, difficult to tame and get close to. However, he happened to be intrigued by women with such temper!

Instead of chasing after her, Marshall turned and entered the hospital building.

Alicia was devastated and stepped on the gas pedal all the way. After finding a place, Alicia stopped the car.

As darkness came, the nightlife in the city began. The streets were full of noise, creating a lively atmosphere. Walking to the pedestrian street on one side, Alicia felt that she needed to calm down. Hence, she went to buy ice cream.

She ate as she strolled along the way, but her mood was indescribably gloomy.

In the past, whenever she encountered something, her father would shoulder it for her. If she was afraid, she would hide behind her father. There was always someone watching her back. But at present, she could only watch him helplessly. She was really tired. She missed the days when her father was there for her!

Her father had warm hands. As long as she held it, she felt like she had endless power. In the past, she was not afraid of anything. It seemed like her father would stand in front of her like a mountain, protecting her. Except for the matter regarding Jeremy, he had never slapped her. With a faint sigh, Alicia sat down on a lounge chair at a corner with a tired look on her face. "Dad, I miss you so much."

When she was a child, her father would buy her ice cream in the middle of the night. Her mother would sometimes blame her for being so willful, but he said that he would always protect her and spoil her. She was his gem and needed to be treasured before he ran out of chances to do so.

Because his daughter would grow up one day and get married!

Thinking of her father, Alicia couldn't help but sniff again as she ate her favorite ice cream.

Looking down, Alicia placed the bag down slowly and pouted her lips subconsciously.

She just didn’t want to come back early!

Looking down, Frederick's eyes fell on the shopping bag in her hand: No wonder she was in a good mood! She went shopping after all.

When Alicia didn't know what excuse to make, Frederick's voice became soft automatically, "Don't be home so late in the future. You have to be back before ten o'clock!"

Alicia responded with no emotions, "Okay, I'm going to get changed then!"

The next second, the beautiful figure had vanished. Frederick was stunned while holding a glass of red wine.

Was it his illusion? Why did he feel like she wasn't into him? Not only did she not cook for him, but she also didn't bother to ask if he had eaten or not? He wondered about this.

Was it because of the way he talked earlier on? Was she upset?

For a moment, Frederick's eyebrows were snapped together as if they couldn't be parted!

In the bathroom, Alicia sighed while taking a shower. Why hadn't he gone for a business trip yet? Shouldn't he have some social activities to attend to? Why did he come back so early?

It was really annoying!
