He came to his senses when he saw that Danica was calling him. Frederick put out the cigarette, took a moment to calm himself down, and answered the call.

"Danica. It's me!"

"Frederick, am I disturbing you?"

He smiled slightly as he heard Danica's ever-gentle voice. Her beautiful figure flashed across his mind as he curled his lip slightly. He then shook his head to get rid of the image and replied to her coldly.

"No!"

"I know you're busy, thus I'll make it quick! Are you free tonight? Let's have dinner together! It's been so long since I saw my friends, I have invited them tonight to East Bannpool. Let's go together after dinner, alright?"

After chatting for a while, Frederick did not refuse her as it was just a casual dinner. After that, all he could hear was Danica's voice of care, but he was absent-minded and didn't pay attention to her. He felt nothing for her.

It was not until he heard the end of the conversation that he replied, "I will see you tonight!"

After hanging up the phone, he suddenly felt empty.

Meanwhile, Alicia was feeling extremely down after work. She did not want to go home to face her empty house, therefore she went to the arcade. She took out fifty dollars as she was preparing to get some plushies from the claw machine.

If she spent more than an hour at the arcade, she would probably fall asleep right away when she got back home.

It was purely to pass time. Alicia went in but was not in a hurry. She sat on the lounge chair for half an hour. When she got up, she did not have much interest in the dolls. She did not put much effort into clawing for those toys.

After a while, she spent all fifty dollars but she was still empty-handed.

She started grabbing her hair out of frustration. A staff member came over and handed her 20 more tokens. "Miss, the manager wants to thank you for showing your mercy the last time. This is a reward for you!"

Alicia was kidding last time and did not expect the manager to take it seriously. She then took it and replied bluntly, "Thank the manager for me!"

Since she already spent fifty dollars mindlessly, it would be good if she continued to play for a little longer!

Alicia turned around and continued. Maybe because of the reward, she suddenly felt much better. Even her luck got seemingly better.

"Not bad!"

Although she only caught a small rabbit doll, it was nice to not be empty-handed. Moreover, it was her first time getting a doll from the claw machine.

With the pinkish rabbit doll in her hand, she left happily.
