When he picked up the papers, Alicia's neat handwriting came into view. The veins on his hand protruded from rage.

This d*mned woman! Has she actually signed it? He took less than three minutes to head upstairs to print a copy and she had already signed the papers?

What the h*ll?

Wasn't she in the least reluctant? Was she so desperate to leave him? He was even thinking of continuing her allowance so that she could happily enjoy the extra income each month!

D*mn it! He must have been sick in the head!

Why was she in such a rush? Was she going to work or to her ex?

This was supposed to be the ending he wanted, the ending he eagerly wished for. There was no mess of clinging and crying. Despite that, he was so mad that he was going to be on the brink of losing his temper!

Did she want a divorce with him? Want to leave him? Is that so?

He ripped the divorce agreement into pieces, fuming as if he could murder someone that instant.

Alicia kept her foot on the gas pedal and even called her director on the way to take a leave, explaining the situation. She did not even have time to catch a single breath as she arrived at Clearview Hospital.

"Doctor, doctor-"

Before she reached the ward, she passed Marshall on the way.

He grabbed her arm. "You're here at last! Mr. Rice Bug has been waiting for some time! Oh, your warehouse is almost empty, let's go make the payment, shall we? You're free now, right?"

She was dumbstruck at his joking voice. "Was it you who asked someone to call me?"

He did not deny and nodded. "If I didn't make it vague, would you have gotten here so fast? You pranked me once; this is payback. We're even now, right?"

He did everything on a whim. As it was a weekend, he was afraid that she would shirk away, thus he asked the nurse to make the prank call. He just wanted to see her. Just doing anything together would be great!

Alicia felt about to burst from rage. The next instant, she raised her hand and slapped him.

"Is it fun to do this? Is this something to joke about? Don't you know it's about life and death? What type of sh*tty doctor are you? You're unethical, you've got no principles! Your heart is also rotten! You b*stard! You're not human! Playing pranks for nothing? Did you know that I was to work overtime today?"

Tears flowed down her cheeks. She squatted down and sobbed terribly.

All because of his call, she had to wave goodbye to one thousand dollars! Frederick was also divorcing her and she would not have the thirty- thousand-dollar allowance from now on. How would she get by the next month?

Anguished, she felt wronged. She fell apart as she wailed like a child in the hospital aisle, her arms wrapping around herself.

However, Marshall added them just to keep in touch with her!
