It was already past nine-thirty. Alicia did not rush to the company but took an aimless walk on the streets instead.

For the first time, she did not even have the energy to make money. She had to receive clients and she did not think she could do well with her current condition.

She had no idea what to do. Coincidentally, Mrs. Blanchard called her, therefore she drove home.

The whole day, she helped her mother but she was muddled and disorientated. They wrapped things up at noon and Mrs. Blanchard went to the market to get some fresh prawns for dinner.

"Have you been busy, Ally? Why haven't you come home for so long? Eat more! They're all your favorites! I've also made some pie with handmade chicken filling, you should take them home as snacks!"

Forking her a big, steamed prawn, Mrs. Blanchard took two looks at her and thought, "When she comes back in the past, she would be quiet but she is still relaxed. This time, it is obvious that she is depressed."

"Thanks, Mom! You have some too!"

Taking up her fork, Alicia put some shrimps on her mother's plate. "I'm already full. Mom, you should have more!"

In the past, she used to come home whenever she had free time. At present, she had not returned in a long time. Mrs. Blanchard figured that Alicia would not even come if she had not made the phone call.

Her daughter would always share the good news but not the bad!

Watching her pick at the food and eating mechanically, Mrs. Blanchard could guess that something had happened to her!

Even so, she did not say anything much throughout the meal and even packed the pie for Alicia after dinner.

Alicia was on the sofa fiddling with the remote control with dull, unfocused eyes. Mrs. Blanchard reached over and switched off the TV. "Ally, did something happen between you and Frederick?"

She knew her daughter the best!

In the past few years, Alicia had many jobs. Mrs. Blanchard had never seen her so dejected no matter how big the setbacks were. She did not even have any notable reaction when she gave up on designing. The only thing she could think of was Alicia's marriage.

The last time she came back, she was quite happy. Sometimes, she would even look at the time anxiously when it was getting late. This time, something was different!

"Mom-"

Alicia called her mother but said nothing. The words 'No' stopped at her lips before she could speak. Her heart was hurting. She knew she should not long for it, she knew that they were divorced but she was upset!

Pulling her over, Mrs. Blanchard gave her a hug.

"Ally, every family has its own difficulties. We never thought that we would land in this situation - in a different city and with only each other to depend on. They're just things that we can't do and things that can't be forced. Nothing is more important than living on! If we live, anything is possible. Life is long and love will find its way. Don't force yourself, you are the best and will receive the most beautiful love. You will find a man who will cherish you. Don't give up no matter what!"

Mrs. Blanchard sighed. She could do nothing but feel sad for Alicia. However, she did not let it show in fear of making her daughter even more upset.

"To be honest, I could tell from the start that what happened between you and Frederick was an accident. Ally, I used to disapprove of marriages where the families do not match with each other. We've seen a lot about people these few years. When the difference is too big between people, it is destined that we can't reach their level. We'll even get ourselves into difficult positions!"

She then stroked her daughter's hair lovingly.

She continued, "Don't force it. If we can't fight it, well be the only ones getting hurt. We are on the weaker side and you can't bite the hand that feeds you. All you have to do is follow your heart without regrets and guilt; that's how you should live! Look at our family. Such a tragedy happened but we still lived on to this day.
