Blinded by anger, Frederick blabbered without thinking it through but as he looked at her, a thousand voices were pleading in his heart.

They looked at each other as anger flashed across Alicia's eyes, her fists clenched. She could not believe it. They had not separated yet but he was already saying things like this?

He just said that she was his wife as long as he did not sign the papers. However, he actually asked this of her?

Her heart was in pieces but the pain and anger faded instantly. They were replaced by sadness and hopelessness.

With that, he strode to the door.

The floorboard shook beneath her feet and she shuddered. "One million dollars is a lot indeed!"

She really wanted to tear the check apart. Despite that, she slowly placed it in her bag without words, despondency on her face. Her dignity meant nothing. All she needed was money now!

Frederick's face was icy cold as he stepped hard on the gas pedal. "She agreed to it! That stupid woman!"

All she had to do was refuse and he would gladly give her the money anyway! But, she actually agreed to it?

Did she not have her principles? Her limits? She agreed to entertain a client? Did she know what it meant?

Was she willing to do anything for the sake of money?

His thoughts were a mess the whole day. Nothing had seemed to go according to his plan. Stopping the car at the beach, he took out a box of cigarettes feeling frustrated.

She signed the papers without any hesitation and had the mood to sell those kinds of products for extra money. She even agreed to his ridiculous offer. Every action was a big No in his heart. All this was nothing, he thought. Who said that he could not go on without her?

He unerringly believed that if he signed the papers, that woman would run into another man's arms immediately. She would no longer belong to him!

She loved the pair of earrings very much. There was a time when she almost threw it away because of a misunderstanding!
