Frederick walked slowly to the kitchen and when he looked inside, he saw Alicia wearing an apron, cutting a potato into slices. He hid the flower he got for her and was about to step forward when he suddenly heard a shout of surprise.

"Ouch-"

"What happened?"

Frederick quickly rushed over to Alicia and held her hand up to check. He then saw a cut with blood oozing from it.

"How could you be so careless? Do you not care about your hand at all?"

As he rinsed her hand with water, he went to look for a band-aid and applied it for her.

Looking at the nervous but gentle man in front of her, Alicia's gaze fell on the dining table behind him. On top of the table, she saw a bouquet of beautifully packaged red roses that was shining beautifully under the light.

Frederick turned around and glanced in the direction of her gaze. He couldn't help but smile. "You are such a kid! Did you forget the pain as soon as you saw the gift?"

He turned around, took the flowers, and handed them to her. "I wanted to give it to you last night but you weren't around. Hence, I decided to give it to you again today! Do you like it?"

Alicia held the flowers and nodded. Receiving the flowers from him seemed to have filled the gap in her heart. She didn't care about anything else and hugged him tightly.

Frederick immediately realized that something was wrong with her from her lack of speech. As he caressed the back of her head, he returned the hug.

"What's the matter? Did something happen?"

Alicia didn't want to affect her relationship with Frederick because of her past with Jeremy. She shook her head.

"No! It's like a dream that you've suddenly become so romantic, I'm so touched-"

"Silly girl!"

Suddenly, they smelled something burning. Alicia immediately stepped out from his embrace and stuffed the bouquet of flowers into his hands as she rushed over quickly.

"Oh no, my pork ribs!"

As she added water, she tried to fix the dish. She turned around and told him, "Hubby, don't spoil my flowers! Get some bowls and utensils, we'll have dinner in a moment!"

Looking at her rushed behavior, Frederick noticed that she had regained her old manner. His face lit up as he replied, "Sure!"

Alicia had prepared mashed potatoes, pork ribs, and some eggs with tomatoes. She even made some side dishes to balance out the taste. After she filled their bowls with rice, the both of them started eating.

"Hubby, try the ribs! I learned how to make this from my mother, I think it's not bad!"

"Yeah!"

The cold and desolate house that Frederick once visited less than once per month was currently filled with the aroma of hot dishes and the warm feeling of a home. As he ate the dishes that Alicia made, joy spread across his features.

Alexis really wanted to continue mocking Graham but at the thought of his own salary, he chose to shut up.

"Everything was going well initially. I made sure that everything was settled. Who knew that suddenly the person who was supposed to check the products got sick and that they would hire more people to check! Didn't those materials look the same as normal ones? In fact, how much difference in quality could there be between imported and domestic products? Let's take tiles as an example, there shouldn't be any problems for at least a year! The house would've been signed over by then and there wouldn't have been any problems!"

The more Graham thought about it, the angrier he got. He felt that this time, he was really unlucky. At much hassle, he finally managed to get his hands on an inspection pass. He had thought that with this pass, he would be able to make a fortune in the future and his life would become easier. Who would've known that the very first batch of products already had problems!

He even paid a higher price for the replication!

F*ck! He was in such a big mess this time!

Graham shouted anxiously, "Quick, keep thinking, is there anyone who can help us? Is there any other way?"

"If you really want to, the only way is that you can try to settle this from the internal sector of Soaver International! If they agree to let us replace them with other products of the same quality, or if they are willing to give you more time, or reduce the amount of compensation, then everything will be fine. The key is to find someone that can make the decision! Other than that, there is no other way!"

After listening to this, Graham made another call. "Mr. Lynch-"

This was Glenn Lynch, the manager who gave him tips on how to adulterate. Graham thought that he had a good relationship with him and he even gave that manager a rebate as bethought that he was very trustworthy. Little did he know that Glenn was Chet's underling.

On the other end of the line, Glenn yawned as he listened to Graham's begs and wails. He then sneered.

"It’s not that I don't want to help you. My superior has already intervened in this matter, it doesn't matter anymore whether I want to help you or not! You'd better not expect anything from me anymore! Didn't you wonder why Mr. Reynes didn't pay that much attention at the later stage but the higher-ups suddenly intervened and left no room to negotiate in this matter?"
