It was not the first time that Penny met her. How could she have mistaken Alicia for Danica? Was it because of her hair or her dress? When Alicia first entered, did Penny not see her?

That woman was clearly not crazy, her target was obviously Alicia! If she really was crazy, how could she have clearly called out names and even said all these?

She must've known Danica and even knew about Danica and Frederick's past! It wasn't because she had been triggered, she was aiming for Alicia!

"Did Frederick choose to be with me because I resemble Danica back then? Was that why before she returned, he had so many complaints about me because he was still clinging onto that girl? In an instant, she felt uncomfortable and upset.

"Was he thinking about Danica every time he hugged me? What if one day Danica recovered her old appearance? Would I be abandoned again?" Alicia's thought was in a mess.

As Alicia looked at her own reflection, she tried to recall what Danica looked like at the moment. As she finally remembered, she realized that Danica must've gotten too skinny that she didn't look like how she did before.

Didn't everyone claim that weight loss was the best makeover?

It was extremely hard to lose weight but it was fairly easy to gain weight.

Could it be that all the gentleness and concern that Frederick had shown her all this while was because he had taken her for Danica? After he lost Danica, he was taking Alicia as a replacement or a temporary replacement. Could that be true?

This feeling was terrible!

She would rather have Frederick disliking her for her than him taking her for someone else's replacement.

Alicia made up her mind and decided to give it a try. After all, she didn't want to lose a great relationship because of her own doubt.

After a long moment, Alicia swallowed the words down as she looked up at Frederick's handsome face under the dim light.

What if she had exposed the truth? If it really were true, would she immediately lose Frederick and this warm embrace?

After falling silent for a while, Alicia murmured, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight!"

Frederick stroked her hair and tightened his arms, his low voice sleepy. But for so long, Alicia, who was curled up in his arms, couldn't sleep at all.

Was she just a substitute? Did it even matter if she was?

For the entire night, she was troubled.

She even thought of Lindsay. Lindsay must have been happy too during that year when her relationship got so much better.
