After thinking about it for a while, Alicia finally understood something.

It wasn't important if it was true or not. Danica just wanted the suspicion, estrangement, and cracks between Frederick and Alicia! Perhaps, she did not care about Frederick's thoughts at all. She just wanted Alicia to think that they were incompatible, to misunderstand each other, and even to break up!

A sudden thought came to her mind. She felt as if she was being played and manipulated. Since Danica couldn't find a breakthrough from Frederick, she decided to take action against Alicia instead.

Taking a deep breath, Alicia felt that she was still mentally weak. If she'd been more rational, she would've noticed that things were off right from the get go. They would have fought, and Doris wouldn't have witnessed such a scene. If they'd been seen by any other employee, there'd be rumors everywhere!

"What're you thinking about? You didn't even hear me call you. Aren't you hungry?" He called her name twice, but she didn't respond at all.

He embraced her and said, "Wash your hands, it's time to eat!"

"The faucet is broken, isn't it?" She suddenly came to her senses and said in a softer voice.

"That's why we'll have to make do with the water in the bucket."

Alicia saw a bucket at the sink and washed her hands with a smile. She also wiped her face. Fortunately, she didn't put on any mascara that day because she'd gotten up late. Otherwise, she would have looked terrible.

The corners of her mouth twitched in front of the mirror. She rubbed her reddened eyes and walked out happily.

Frederick had already set up the food at the table. He gave her the tableware and said, "Here, eat more!"

Her performance that day was amazing!

His actions made her sad, which gave Frederick mixed feelings. He said to her, "You're the smartest woman I have ever seen! I'm very happy to be with a smart woman!"

At the same time, he felt comfortable!

Looking at the food on the table, Alicia couldn't wait to dig in. She was already about to drool.

"I want to eat the lobster!" The company actually served lobsters?

She couldn't remember what he said on the phone, but looking at the food and recalling what he just said to her, her mood was so much better now.

Frederick picked up a juicy lobster and cracked open the shell before handing it to her.

Looking at the lobster, Alicia's eyes were shining, "Hubby, let's share this!"

Alicia split the lobster in half and handed one half to Frederick. She stuffed the other half into her mouth and immediately narrowed her eyes in satisfaction.

Frederick did not eat the whole thing but instead cut it into smaller pieces elegantly and put them onto her plate.

He looked at her and asked, "Does it happen often? I mean in your department... Do you get bullied often?"

This was his first time patrolling around the company like that, and yet he'd already managed to encounter something like that. Recalling how she'd been forced into a corner, standing tall but still pitifully small, Frederick's temper started to rise.

Looking at the time, the corner of Alicia's lips drooped and she said regretfully, "I can't take an afternoon nap..."

If the incident with Danica hadn't happened, she could have taken a 30 minute nap. She had this habit of taking a short nap in the afternoon so that she would have energy later. Moreover, she was really tired and felt like sleeping!

Pulling her onto his lap, Frederick couldn't help but chuckle.

"Oh, it's just a small matter. I can make things easier for you! You can have the rest of the day off! You can choose to either rest at home or just sleep here!"

He could see how tired she was. He pinched her cheek and said, "You don't have to work so hard! I'll take care of you! Later, I'll ask Chet to apply for a supplementary card for you in case of emergency!"

Frederick was wondering if he had given her too little things, which made her feel insecure.

Frederick was no ordinary person after all. Alicia had never thought of getting a supplementary card from him. Frederick grabbed her hand all of a sudden.

"I've already gotten someone to check out the dates. It's a bit too rushed for us to get things done in the first half of the year, so I've picked October 10th for our wedding, and we'll have it at the mountain villa. The weather will be just nice! I think we should just have friends and family, so we don't have to bother with so many guests. I just want everybody important to know that you're my wife. If you want to have a huge, grand wedding, we can have a few more ceremonies after this. Starting from now on, you'll have to cut down on the alcohol. Once I'm clean of smoking and drinking, we can have a baby. Okay?"

He kissed her on her hand. Frederick had shared all of his plans.

"I've already contacted a few wedding dress designers. In a few days, the designs will be sent over. You have plenty of time to make a decision. I wasn't able to give you a normal start, so I'll make sure the wedding is perfect. Just like our life together in the future!"

Alicia hooked her arms around his neck and said with tears in her eyes, "Okay. I'll listen to you! I will take good care of myself and be your most beautiful bride!"
