For the past few days, he was greeted by silence every time he came back.

He said he wanted to have dinner with her, but she would reply that she had no appetite. Sometimes when they bumped into each other, she would go to Lavender Garden and stay there until her mother chased her back!

Ever since that time, she seemed to not like staying at home, nor did she want to go out with him alone. Last time, before it got dark, she would always be at home and she would cook too. Every time he came back, she would either greet him at the door or welcome him home excitedly. The house was always filled with joy and laughter!

But recently, she suddenly became cold. She lost interest in everything, and she was no longer that clingy towards him.

The stronger she looked on the outside, the weaker and more sensitive she was on the inside. There was no room for any error when it comes to relationships.

She was like a bunny that got seriously hurt! Even the tiniest shock was enough to scare her back to her nest!

If he didn't pick her up, she would probably even spend the night at her parents' home that night!

She wouldn't stay this way forever, would she? A cold shiver ran down his spine. He was really afraid that she would not be able to get out of this since she was so stubborn. Frederick turned around and walked out of the door

At Lavender Garden, Alicia snuggled on the sofa in a daze.

Mrs. Blanchard brought the fruits out and took a look at the time. She felt that something was wrong and said, "Ally, it's getting late!"

"Yeah..." Alicia did not move an inch even after answering.

"Ally, is there something wrong with work? Or..." Did she have a fight with Frederick?

Before Mrs. Blanchard could finish her sentence, Alicia had already answered her with her mind wandering elsewhere.

Mrs. Blanchard sighed, and then she saw Frederick at the door, "Mom, is Alicia here? Did she fall asleep? I’m here to pick her up!"

"She's here! Nope, she's not asleep! She spaced out after dinner on the sofa. I wonder what she is thinking? Frederick, did you guys quarrel? Is there something wrong?"

Why was she coming back every night?

Mrs. Blanchard was hesitant to ask as she didn't know what the issue was, and was unsure about whether or not she should ask.

"Mom, it's my fault. I..."

Just as he was thinking about how to explain to Mrs. Blanchard, Alicia came and answered before he could even finish his sentence,

"It is indeed your fault, isn't it? You have too many meetings and you don' t even have time to accompany me!"

She stopped him from teling the truth. Frederick then understood that she didn't tell her parents anything, so perhaps she didn't want to tell them about it. Hence, he didn't continue to explain.

"Ally, how old are you? How could you be so demanding? Frederick, please bear with her and don't blame her. She's just protective over you and wishes for her man to stay by her side to protect and love her! Don't mind her; she's just too spoiled by you! Ally, hurry up and get ready, it’s getting late! You’ re already married, so don't be so stubborn! Quit making Frederick come pick you up!"
