It was so sudden that Alicia was shocked. She looked up to see a balding, middle-aged man. She knew him. He was also a tenant in her building whom she had met twice in the elevator. People around knew him as Lawrence Flynt. She had heard that he was a customer service manager who was doing well. While he was a good guy, he was sadly lacking in the physical appearances -wasn't very tall, had premature balding before 35, looked rather mature like someone in his forties -thus the reasons why he was still single.

They had bumped into each other twice around the area they lived. Once when her shoe was stuck in a hole, he came forward to help her. While they may have known each other a little since then, their interaction was merely greeting each other with a nod whenever they meet. So it was really a question as to why would he chase her all of a sudden.

"Miss Blanchard, are you free tonight? I'd like to take you out for dinner. Western, Chinese, Japanese, or..."

Waving her hands as a gesture to decline him, Alicia took a step back self as a reflex response.

"Mr. Flynt, I think you have misunderstood. I already have a boyfriend. This is inappropriate!" "Miss Blanchard, I really like you! I have never liked a woman this much. I don't just want a relationship, I want to marry you! I will be responsible to you and treat you well! As long as you're not married, I still have a chance to woo you. Or we could even be friends who go out occasionally for a meal or a walk?"

He handed the giant bouquet of red roses to her hurriedly.

"Miss Blanchard, I know that you live alone. I also know that you are working as a translator and a white- collar just like myself. We are indeed a perfect match!"

"Please, please give me a chance. Accept my invitation!"

With a thud, Lawrence had actually fallen to his knees, shocking Alicia even more.

"Oh my, stop this! Get up first!"

"In any case, I am a married woman and not divorced yet. Um no, no, I'm not getting a divorce! Please don't do this. Get up quickly!"

Lawrence was already attracting much attention with the big rose bouquet. On top of that, he was kneeling at the entrance and during evening time when people were returning home. For a moment, Alicia did not dare to reach out to him. She didn't know many people here. And for a flash second, she was in cold sweat. There were also passersby who stopped by to film and photograph this scene.

"Hey, what's going on? Is it a marriage proposal?"

"No way! Look at how incompatible they are. That man is old and ugly!"

"Some rich men don't look great either, but don't they too get the girls they want? The girl is beautiful, but it won't do anything. Is she the new tenant? I heard there is a new beauty here in Robson Garden!"

"Isn't that Lawrence Flynt? Didn't his family introduce someone to him not long ago?"

"Did he dump her?"

Frederick was on the phone as he got out of the car and saw this scene. Jealousy was written all over his face. "We'll talk about it when I get back!"

Ending the call, Frederick strode towards them. "Ally..."

Pulling Alicia away and to his back, he said,

"Sir, stay away from my wife from now on. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror! If you harass her again, I’ll come after you!"

Frederick kicked the flowers from Lawrence's hand before turning around to take Alicia in his arms and left.

Behind him were hushed voices and murmurs of comments.

"Wow! Such a handsome guy. Now that is what we call a perfect match!"

This young master had always been spoiled at home!

In the kitchen, Alicia prepared two simple dishes with one vegetarian and another non-vegetarian. After warming up a dinner roll for him and pouring a glass of water, Alicia looked at him with her chin rested on her hand.

"Aren't you having any?"

Alicia shook her head and told, "I've just had afternoon tea with Waverly. I'm not hungry."

Thinking of Waverly, just as Alicia was about to explain to him the Western City land issue, Frederick's phone rang. As he answered the call, she went to cut some fruits in the kitchen.

When she came out and saw that he was still on the call, she gestured and went back into her room with her phone.

Thinking that there was plenty of time for that night, she was not in a hurry and occupied herself with work for a while. After managing some work issues, she seemed to think about something.

Frederick said, "Send a group of security guards to Robson Garden tomorrow. We'll need to secure the lift and entrance. We'll make a show of it for the first and second round, and then the real deal on the third round. Even though I've given up my rights, I'll still guard what’s mine. I'm not giving up without a fight. I'm not joining the bidding session. The Sub- group meetings will be carried on as usual, but I'm taking the day off.

When Frederick entered the bedroom, he saw Alicia sitting at the computer. She was flipping through a dictionary with one hand and had a pen and paper on the other. Her laptop was turned on as well. That was her way of working - focused, no-nonsense, hardworking, and quiet.

Having been by his side for so long, she had never given up making her own living. Hence, Frederick still wouldn't believe that she would betray him for money. Even a fool would know that he could give her a thousand times of whatever benefits she could ever gain from betrayal.

As Frederick watched her from the bedside, he felt that the night was beautiful. He got his pajamas and went to the bathroom for a shower. Just when he was about to take a shower, a message appeared on his phone:
