He had never heard her talk to him in such a distant and cold tone. Frederick's heart sank instantly and he felt terrible. He held his cell phone, but he did not call again.

Frederick suppressed his feelings inside. He understood that at this moment, he needed to calm down and reflect too. He needed to sort out his thoughts.

He turned the car around and didn't go looking for her anymore. Frederick went back to his office instead.

In the backroom, Freya laid out some refreshments and switched on the aromatherapy diffuser. "What's the matter? Is there something on your mind? The lavender can help clear your mind”

"Aunt Freya.”

Alicia's heart warmed as she leaned on her aunt's shoulder and replied, "Yes, there are some things I can't figure out. If only I could remain a child forever and never grow up. Grownups have too many troubles."

"You saying this means that you've already matured! You don't have to think about it. Just follow your heart. At least, you shouldn't regret it."

If she had followed her heart and chose to keep the child back then, she wouldn't be where she was presently. In fact, she had felt that she was wrong more than once. Life was a gamble, but she had yet to learn how to stop the hurt.

"Ally, have you ever heard a saying that a good woman won't have a good marriage! Do you know why?"

Alicia shook her head, but Freya smiled and continued.

"Because they are too sensible! When women are too sensible, the men will be spoiled. As a result, they won't grow up! I am a good example! I sacrificed everything, but the man never learnt to cherish me! However, bad women don’t usually win either. In this world, the victors make the rules! I'm not teaching you to be a bad woman. But rather, don't be too sensible in a relationship! Most importantly, don't sacrifice everything for a man! Therefore, don't be sad because of love. Even if he belongs to you, you can't be sure the relationship will last, let alone if he doesn't belong to you. Why would you force it? If you can't handle it, you will only have yourself to blame."

"How did you know I'm troubled by love, Aunt Freya?"

"You used to be the daughter of a rich and powerful family. Yet, you were left with nothing because of bankruptcy. Even so, you got through it all just fine. What else can trouble you except for love? Listen to me, no matter who that man is, you should only be sad today. Tomorrow, you must smile.”

Freya handed her a sweet treat, "If you fall in love with sweets, you will know how sweet life is."

"You’re right!"

Alicia nodded. She took the treat. "Gosh, it's so bitter! What's this?”

It was awful. She was about to throw up!

"It's citrus peel! How can you enjoy the taste of sweetness if you don' t know the taste of bitterness? If you are unhappy in the future, try eating one again!" Then, she handed her another piece.

"This piece has no citrus peel!”
