Chet returned quickly to the ward after his phone call. He found Frederick and Danica sitting on the bed, facing each other, while Danica was cutting an apple. They seemed to be chatting. Chet was stunned for a moment but soon came to his senses.

"Miss Randolph, you’ re awake so soon? Frederick..."

Chet was contemplating if he should leave the ward.

What if Alicia returned while Danica was still there?

Under normal circumstances, he would have avoided a situation like that. However, when he looked at Frederick, he was a little hesitant. He was confused.

"Where is she?"

"Miss Blanchard said she has got work to do, so she left."

Taking the breakfast, Chet passed it to Frederick with an inkling of what was going on, "Frederick, Miss Blanchard knows."

"Alicia? What does she know? She's here?”

Frederick was far from the door plus the nurse earlier spoke rather softly, so he wasn't able to hear clearly. His heart raced and he craned his head to look at the door. He was wondering why Alicia hadn’t come herself.

With a sigh, Chet began to explain the whole situation the night before. He also explained what happened the night before and that morning.

"You mean... she was there when you entered the warehouse last night?"

Chet closed his eyes and nodded.

"Did I really see her here last night? Was she the one taking care of me in the hospital last night?” That meant he wasn't hallucinating or dreaming. She was really there holding his hand.

After a long sigh, Chet nodded again.

"This time, Frederick, you aren't going to clear your name so easily. When we rushed in... you and Miss Randolph... Let's just say we really couldn’t pull you both apart."

Chet knew that it was because Frederick's body was frozen stiff. However, when he thought about the scene the night before, he had no words for it, let alone Alicia.
