Mrs. Smith’s face turned pale in an instant. She clenched her fists so tight that her sharp fingernails dug into her palms. 

She struggled to hold back her tears and said with a sneer, “That’s right. I’m just an outsider. No matter how much I devote myself to this family, you won’t take what I say seriously!” 

Louis tugged at her sleeve with a frown. “Mom, stop…” 

Mrs. Smith shook off his hand and glanced at him coldly before she said with a snort, “Let me finish.” 

Since she married into the Smith family, the old man had never said a word to her in a pleasant manner. He would reprimand her at any time without taking her dignity into consideration. 

After all, she had given birth to the children of the Smith family. Even if she did not make any contributions, she deserved to be respected.

second son of the Johnson family. 

He was proud and picky, and would not defend anyone simply for money. 

The Smith family wanted to hire him as a consultant at its peak but was mercilessly rejected. 

Now, he was personally defending a nobody like Rachel?

Hearing that, Mrs. Smith calmed down a little. 

At this moment, Louis‘ phone suddenly rang. It was his assistant. 

“Mr. Smith, bad news! Miss Grey exposed the recording of the conversation between you two!”
