"Oh, he can't?" Ernest snickered and said, "Tell him that he'll take responsibility for the company losses, including paying off all the debts in full. Otherwise, expect to serve time."

"Roger that!" The subordinate was familiar with his arrangement, quickly affirming and leaving the room.

When Bryson received Ernest's response, he saw his last sliver of hope diminishing. "No, I can't go to jail! That's right… I can't go to jail!"

At that thought, a flash of cold malice crossed Bryson's eyes.

At that, Bryson looked up and suddenly pulled out a knife he had prepared in advance before pointing at her.

"You fucking bitch! It's all because of you! I'm telling you—if Daniel doesn't retreat, I'll drag you down with me even if it means death!" With a series of movements, he held her captive.

Jennifer gasped before having the knife positioned right before her face. Her heart pounded as she said, "Okay, I'll call him now!"

"You should've done that earlier. Also, don't assume we're clueless about your secret plans. You only drove him away so our family wouldn't get any benefits. If you think that's going to happen, dream on!"

By then, Bryson had released her, though he still pointed the knife at Jennifer with a menacing look.

Truth be told, he wouldn't want to disfigure her if he could. However, his circumstances left him no choice, as the only other way out was a miserable death.
