Daniel walked over to the table and sat down.

Charlene immediately stepped forward, poured a glass of red wine for him, and said, "You don't have a place to stay right now, so you can stay here. Of course, if you want to return to Jennifer, that's fine, too."

Daniel looked at the red wine and asked, "Is there poison in this wine?"

"Poison, your ass! I'm not a murderer. Why the hell would I poison you?" she snapped as she couldn't hold it in anymore.

He shook his head. "I wouldn't be so sure. Didn't you poison me when you took me back from Jennifer? You are even more malicious than her."

Charlene froze for a moment, then remembered what happened the first day. She couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Oh, so you're talking about the heart medication!" she said with a smile. "That wasn't poison. It was the latest medicine I bought at a high price from abroad. It's the best for treating heart disease.

"My grandfather was dying, so I had no choice but to buy it. But since the medicine hasn't been officially released yet, I was worried it might harm him, so I gave it to you first.

"Even if the medicine were toxic, it would only make you vomit and have diarrhea, not kill you! Why would I buy poison from abroad for my grandfather?

"Actually, now that I think about it, I should thank you for curing my grandfather. Who knows if those new medicines could work?"

Daniel trembled when he heard her words.

But a wave of guilt suddenly surged in his heart. All this time, he had misunderstood Charlene, thinking she was a malicious, ungrateful, and promiscuous woman. It turned out that wasn't the case at all.

Looking at things from another angle, if it weren't for her testing the medicine on him, he would still be an idiot, unable to return from Heavenfall Realm.

Charlene was truly his savior.

The more he thought about it, the more guilty he felt. She had saved him, but he had taken advantage of her again and again forcefully.

Daniel watched her figure, and the guilt in his heart grew more assertive.

Before long, Charlene brought the lamb to the table.

"Here. Have some to replenish your energy," she said.

Daniel was surprised and looked at her, "So you mean… you want more?"

Her face turned red, and she snorted, saying, "Nonsense! From now on, we can't do that again! Jennifer and I are best friends, and you're still Jennifer's husband, no matter what. So, after you finish this meal, you should go back."

When Daniel heard those last words, a sudden pain surged in his heart. He looked at the beautiful Charlene, and guilt overwhelmed him. How could he possibly walk away?

"No," he said. "I'm not leaving. I'll stay here from now on. Also, I'll help you solve the problems with your company and your family. From now on, I'll be your employee and tenant."
