Daniel wasn't that interested in watching the one-sided beatdown. As for the Walshes, their suffering had just begun.

Emmett was a sensible man. He approached Daniel hurriedly once again. "Mr. Ashcroft, should I—"

"Alright, that's enough. Just take them away. Don't interrupt the company's operating hours." Daniel just waved a hand.

Jennifer bit her bottom lip. Her face still sported scratches that were left behind by Selena during their earlier scuffle.

"Thank you." Her voice was as tiny as a mosquito's buzzes. It was at that moment she finally realized that she didn't know who Daniel really was.

Daniel merely chuckled in disdain. "I never thought that someone like you would be capable of thanking me."

"You…"

Upon hearing that response, Jennifer turned on her heel and returned to her company, her expression already stormy.

Daniel followed her into the company in wide strides. The sight of the lobby left him a little dazed, but he soon snapped out of it.

"It seems that your work capability has yet to be assessed, Ms. Walsh."

After leaving his remark, Daniel sank down on a couch.

Jennifer turned around to glare at him. "What did you just call me?"

"I'm here for work reasons. I'm sure that Ms. Geller has filled you in on everything, right? Let's follow the contract's clauses. If you can't finish the predetermined workload, then don't blame me for being ruthless with you."

Daniel might be smiling at Jennifer, but there wasn't any hint of mirth in his eyes at all.

Jennifer slammed a hand onto the table angrily. "That's enough, Daniel Ashcroft! I've had enough of you, you little…"

Before she could let loose of a string of curses, Daniel had already reappeared before her. He gripped her by the face right away.

The force used to squish Jennifer's cheeks was so strong that she couldn't free herself at all. All she could do was let out muffled sounds.

Jennifer could only sit on her chair in shock. It wasn't until Daniel left her office that she grabbed the document on her desk and hurled it at the door angrily, as though she had gone insane.

"Get lost, you bastard!"

At that moment, fear had taken over Jennifer's senses. Still, she refused to believe the fact that Daniel had been pretending to be insane all these years.

"No! That's definitely not the truth! I need to bring him home! As long as he sees the things of the past, he might get reduced to a crazed fool once again! Yes… That must be it!"

Jennifer seemed like she had just grasped onto the final straw that could save her. She needed to find a way to take Daniel home.

Perhaps the sight would be enough to trigger him into becoming a crazed fool once again. Once that happened, he'd become her tool to vent her frustrations on, just like before!

Yes, that would definitely work!

Jennifer began brainwashing herself with all her might. Clearly, Daniel would never listen to her now. Instead, he obeyed all of Charlene's orders.
