Emily’s POV
I was sitting on the stool chair in front of the bar counter when a man sat beside me. I turned to him and he stared at me knowingly before he nodded and walked away.
I immediately followed him to the VIP room of this bar and locked the door.
We made it look like we’re hooking up, so even if someone’s watching, no suspicions would arise. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
He bowed his head. “I’m at your service, Miss. What do you want me to do?”
He was my dad’s loyal butler. When dad was forced to leave the mafia organization because of his condition, his loyal men departed and separated ways but they left their contact and now I need them.
I lifted my chin. “I need you to find someone and investigate someone.”
He nodded. “I just need the name, Miss.”
I handed him the piece of paper where I wrote Matt, Attorney Lee and Connor Foster’s name. He immediately accepted and read it.
“I’ll do everything I can do, Miss.”
“Stay for two more hours,” I said when he bowed, asking permission to leave.
I pointed at the table. “Eat and drink for now. We can’t leave immediately. There might be someone watching us.”
He nodded and sat on the couch. I sat on the single couch across from him and took my phone out.
I scrolled and sighed when I reached Matt’s contact number. Why did I even open my contacts?
I exited the contact and opened the message. My lips parted after I saw Matt’s texts.
‘Good morning, sunshine!’
‘No reply?’
‘Good evening, Miss!’
‘I saw your post. Why are you in a bar again?’
‘I’m gonna pick you up.’
‘Where are you? Did you leave?’
‘Are you avoiding me?’
‘I’ll bring my clothes to your condo.’
‘Are we okay? Did I do something you don’t like?’
‘Em... I miss you...’
I clenched my jaws and massaged the bridge of my nose.
I exited the messages and threw my phone on the couch beside me.
I miss him and it’s making me crazy. I don’t remember how and why I ended up liking him but I can no longer stop it. There’s no way to redeem myself now that I have unknowingly given him my all.
