Chapter 69: Chapter 69 The Wicked

Kelly’s POV

I couldn’t sleep. I kept on thinking about my dad’s desperate cries. It keeps on ringing inside my head and I couldn’t forget about it. His warnings too. He wants me to leave and run away but he knows that I won’t do that. We’re just starting to reconcile and make up for the years we’ve lost and I won’t let a mere third wife ruin my family.

I felt Klay’s familiar scent and his footsteps from the bathroom. So I quickly shut my eyes. I know he’d be worried if he saw me still awake so I pretended to be asleep. He told me after dinner that he needs to stay in the company so he’s leaving tonight. I want to talk to him about Amanda but he’s already so busy. And while he’s working for my father’s company, I need to find evidence to prove Amanda’s wicked intentions. I won’t allow her to stay longer in this house.

After a few seconds, I felt Klay kissing me on my lips as he whispered... “Sleep tight, babe. I’ll be here before you wake up. I love you.”

His sweetness touched my heart, but it couldn’t erase my worry. I’m still thinking about my dad.

After Klay left, I opened my eyes again and lay straight on the bed. I stared at the ceiling and took a deep breath. The only way to stop this ridiculous game is to expose the villain and I will definitely do that.

When the night was deep enough, I pulled myself up from the bed and walked out of the room in complete silence. I went straight to dad’s study room. Luckily it wasn’t locked or someone forgot to lock it.

I looked around before I walked towards the desk. I opened the cabinets to look for something I can use against Amanda. I found so many nonsense documents and it’s starting to irritate me. I opened a new cabinet and found one brown envelope.

I opened the envelope and my hands started shaking so hard after reading its content. It was a bank statement showing all the transactions of my father’s account transferring all his assets to Amanda’s name.

My lips trembled as my chest started moving up and down in so much anger. I flipped the pages and found another document about the transfer of this house to Amanda’s name. Even the island that my father bought as a gift for my mother before is now in Amanda’s name.

I cupped my mouth as I shook my head continuously. Amanda is stealing everything. That shameless bitch!

I felt tears rolling down my cheeks and I immediately wiped it. I took my phone out and took a picture of all the documents before I grabbed the envelope and went out of the study room. I will confront her tonight. I will make sure that she will leave this house and if she refuses, I will be the one to drag her out myself.

I gritted my teeth as I twisted the doorknob of Amanda’s room. I was about to harshly push it open when I heard faint voices inside.

My forehead creased. I can hear a familiar voice but that’s impossible. He’s in the company. He can’t be here.

I spent hours in the study room, studying all the documents I need to transfer all Mr. Monroe’s assets to my name but my blood boiled in anger when I saw the documents that the lawyer sent this morning. It was the documents that transferring Mr. Monroe’s assets and even this house to Amanda’s name. That cunning bitch is getting on my nerves. I already told her that I will be the one who will take all Mr. Monroe’s assets but she’s too impatient.
