The bells of the intercom broke me from my random thoughts.
"Could Leera Evans, please come to room 12, in the foyer- Leera Evans, room 12 in the foyer" the intercom speaker drawled. My right eye instantly twitched, and I had a gut feeling this had to do with my mate.
Knowing where room twelve was, I reluctantly said goodbye to a giggling Avery -not wanting to leave her alone- and headed outside that dining hall, taking the last piece of my burger with me, eating it along the way.
Walking past the same pictures I saw when I first came here, I sighed in frustration. Couldn't they wait until tomorrow or something?!
Room 12 came up on my right, wiping my hands on the front of my black skinny jeans; I knocked on the plain white, wooden door.
"Enter!" a voice boomed, and I gave the person a weird look through the door. What was this? Medieval times?!
Twisting the knob, I opened the door, and walked through. Two men stood behind a glass desk, the left one was whispering quietly, but I could still hear him.
"... We have to send her, if we don't he could declare war over us- you know how alpha's are over their mates! Not only that, but we're talking about the full moon pack here!" the guy on the left whispered frantically, glancing at me numerous times. Clearing my throat, I caught attention from them both.
"You're sending me to my mate" I stated, looking at their expressions "when?"
They stuttered, their eyes bulging from their sockets. They probably didn't expect me to hear them. "good hearing" I answered their silent question. "When?" I asked again.
"Ahhh..." they guy on the right shook his head, "tomorrow, he demanded you be sent to him immediately or he will come- we just called, telling him of you" they both looked quite scared of me, I'm guessing because I was the mate of the most powerful alpha- I had a lot of influence on him, whether I liked it or not.
It felt good
That sounded power-hungry, but it did. Knowing someone was afraid of stepping out of line because of someone's title. But I knew the Full Moon pack could over-throw the Counsel, if needed to get me. After all, I was the future female leader of the pack. I know I was against this stuff, but there wasn't anything I could do about it.
"Do I have to?" I asked, I really didn't want to go. They looked at each other nervously, right then I knew they would force me to go if they had to.
"I'm afraid so..." the guy on the left trailed off, looking towards the ground. Shuffling his feet, sheesh! It wasn't like I was going to call my mate right now, and order them two exiled...
I didn't even have his number
