Taking a deep breath, I stopped in front of room 32. A maid walking past gave me a weird look, ignoring her, I pushed open the door, and there was a very plain, white, sterilized room. There were a couple of benches to sit on and a pastel green curtain, dividing half of the room. Looking around, there were already six other girls there.

A lady with a clipboard came up to me, looking up, she nodded at me.

"Good afternoon, you must be Miss. Leera Evans- what a very peculiar name" she talked as if she was still stuck on the 1800's. Very posh, precise- and formal.

Smiling sweetly, I nodded, going along with what she was talking about.

"... You will be getting your blood taken out after Halaria, Dear! Please wave your hand- she's next, after Julia, you'll be the first for the 3pm arrivals. Okay dear?" I nodded mutely, all I wanted to do was to scream at her I didn't want this- but then they would probably have a guard keep me down.

Sitting next to the girl called Halaria, she had black hair, with doe-brown eyes, and very tan skin. She was on the tall side, and wouldn't stop yapping about how she couldn't wait to meet her mate. Tuning into the conversation, she turned to me.

"How about you? What would you like your mate to be?" she asked with wide eyes. I gave her the 'are you serious' look, and smirked- I seemed to be doing that a lot these days.

"I don't want to meet my mate- in fact I don't want to be here at all" I smiled sickly, and dared her to give me shit with my eyes. She gasped dramatically.

"Why would you not want to find your mate?! You're crazy!" she shrieked, looking at me as if I had grown two heads.

"Simple, I don't want to meet him" I shrugged, turning away from her- instantly ending the conversation. By that time, everyone had turned up, and was staring at me incredulously. What?! Not everyone in the whole world was brain washed to believe they wouldn't survive without their mate.

That was complete and utter bullshit

"But you- I –she!" she stuttered, squinting her eyes. She slumped in her seat, staring ahead weirdly. By now everyone was whispering about me- it paid to have shifter hearing; even though they didn't know that.

"Halaria Estapol, you're next" the lady said, looking extremely bored. Halaria squealed, and rushed up to the curtains, at the same time, another girl exited them- her face had tears streaming down them- I was guessing she was Julia.
