Broken And Pregnant novel Chapter 35

"I'll make them pay. I'll make them kneeled before me! How dare they abuse my weakness? Kent, you asshole! You will pay for this!" Lucy wanted to scream or barged in but she must think wisely. 

They fooled her once, now she can't be a victim anymore. She won't let them do it. She decided to come back tomorrow to get back her son. She doesn't care if a scandal came to the media. It's a good thing actually so that people will know what kind of couple are they. They're both evils. Especially Kent, she gave up everything even her holiness but what he did to her can't be forgiven. 

She decided to go home first. She was on her way back to their old house when she received a call from the hospital. 

"Ma'am, we need urgent surgeries for your father's legs. He's in pain. We need to cut his right legs or else, the infection will get worse inside his bones." Lucy doesn't understand about it. 

"Wait, I'm coming." She told the nurse and she went back to the hospital.

It's a long night and again another long day. She's praying all of her miseries will come to end.

She rushed to her father's room. Her eyes roamed around to look for the doctor who checks her father. She saw Dr. Fred in the hallway just in front of her father's room door.

She ran to talk to him. 

" Doc, how's dad?" Lucy was catching her breath from running. 

Doctor Fred was holding a white paper. Inside it was the result of her father's laboratory result. 

His wrinkled became visible as he set his gaze at her. He's afraid that he might shock the patient's daughter. 

"Your father needs an urgent leg surgery or else the cancer cells will spread throughout his body," he informed Lucy while giving her the papers. 

Lucy had so many thoughts in her head. She felt like she's floating in thin air where her mind blocks all the negative thoughts that might enter it. She tighty took a deep breath to gather all her strength to face all these crises she needs to deal with. She had to be strong. 

Everyone cane back and forth to buy meds but she was just sitting outside the operating room, distant and fatigue. She felt someone sat next to her. She turned her head to see the person and smoke almost came out from her nose when she realized it was Kent's friend Gregory. 

Lucy's eyes widened when Gregory hold her shoulders. His gaze became soft and mesmerizing. 

" Yes, because I like you, Lucy. I'll do anything to help you. I can tell you about their plan too. Just stay alive and away from them!" He promised her.

"Don't worry because I heard them. You're right, Kent was an asshole! He seduced me to be their surrogate!" Lucy couldn't hold her tears anymore. She leans on Gregory's shoulders and burst out in tears.

Lucy POV

The clock is ticking inside the hospital. Right now my mind is divided into two: first, I need a backup to take Austin from them but because I already signed the contract for his adoption paper, I'm afraid they will make a complaint. Second, I just knew that my father is very ill and is dying, and the only means to rescue him was to do the operation on his injured legs but it cost a lot. The 1 million dollars was been used already to pay for my dad's dangerous operation. 

Gregory left after we had coffee in the lobby. I'm glad there's someone like him who is willing to protect and save me from them.
