Grace put down her cup, her lips curling into a sneer. "He still has the nerve to call?"

Benjamin sighed. "What's left to say? He's only calling because he wants to come back and take the family fortune for that bastard child of his. He's counting on the fact that we've only ever had him as our son, and we'll eventually soften and let him back in. After swearing he'd never come back, now he's making a grand return to Hosgland. Shameless."

Grace scoffed incredulously, "I'd rather donate everything to the country than give a single cent to those two useless scoundrels. It's not that I don't want a son, but at least I have two good grandsons now—and a lovely daughter-in-law and granddaughter-in-law. If they think they can manipulate me, they're sorely mistaken."

Abbot, who had been quietly listening, felt deeply touched. While he could never compare to Kingsley, his grandmother still thought well of him.

Benjamin nodded in agreement. "Exactly."

Elaine Yeats asked curiously, "Grandpa, what did he say to you on the phone?"

Benjamin replied, "He was guilt-tripping me, saying our grandson had grown up without seeing him, and that he wanted to bring that bastard back to recognize the family and make up for the years he'd missed. I told him to stay away.

"If they stay here, our whole family will never have peace. Your grandmother and I would like to live a few more years in peace."

Elaine chuckled at her grandfather's bluntness.

Benjamin had even started using internet slang lately, which amused her further.

"That bastard is in such a hurry to 'reconnect with the family' because he probably just wants Bianca's money," she mused.

Abbot grimaced. "Makes me want to puke."

Grace added coldly, "They really have no shame."
