Serena waited until she heard the footsteps fade away before she finally opened the door and stepped out.

She glanced at herself in the mirror and gave a small smile.

Of course, Aaron and Cynthia would end up getting married.

What was so surprising about that?

Turning on the faucet, she washed her face, waiting for her expression to return to normal before leaving the bathroom.

But she'd barely taken a few steps when a strong hand suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Before she could yelp, she saw that it was Aaron.

A mix of embarrassment and annoyance washed over her as she tried to free herself from Aaron's grip. His hold was like a vice, and he practically dragged her into the backyard before she finally managed to break free.

"Aaron, what are you doing? Have you changed your mind?"

Serena barely finished her sentence when Aaron tilted her chin up, forcing her to look at him.

His dark eyes mirrored Serena's angry face, but the fire in his gaze burned even more fiercely than hers.

Serena found it amusing.

What did he have to be angry about?

"Serena, you've really outdone yourself!" Aaron said, his voice laced with cold sarcasm. "In just a few days, you've already found someone new. No wonder you were so determined to leave me! You're so invested in L.S. Entertainment because of Samuel, right?"

Serena's eyes widened slightly.

"You started a company for him because Samuel couldn't stand being second to anyone. How considerate of you!"

Serena raised her hand to slap Aaron. "Aaron, just because you're despicable, don't assume everyone else is!"

Turning back, she was already gone.

No sooner had Serena left than Yvonne found Samuel.

"Samuel," Yvonne looked at him, torn between love and resentment, "what does Serena have that I don't? For all these years, couldn't you even spare me a glance?"

Samuel took a step back, putting distance between them. "Miss Frost, you're a good person, but I just don't have feelings for you."

Yvonne seethed, biting her lip. "A few days ago, when you came to see me, I thought you'd changed your mind. But it was all for Serena! Ha, Serena's spent years chasing Aaron, and it got her nowhere. That's her karma!"

Samuel's brow furrowed deeply. "Yvonne, haven't you said enough? Ever since Serena appeared, you've done nothing but slander her, but I need you to know, no matter what you say, Serena remains the best in my eyes."
