It was finally the day of the university's anniversary celebration.

"You seem particularly happy today," Samuel remarked as he picked up Serena, noticing a distinct difference in her demeanor compared to usual. She seemed to have regained the vibrant optimism she had during their college days.

Serena stretched lazily, "Yes, I am." Ever since she had learned the truth from Dr. Owens, she had been eagerly looking forward to this day. After the celebration, she had a special surprise planned for Aaron.

"What’s the good news? Care to share?" Samuel inquired.

"You'll find out soon enough," Serena replied with a mischievous smile.

"Alright, I'll wait then," Samuel said, realizing Serena wasn't ready to divulge more, so he dropped the subject.

An hour later, they arrived at Alderburg University, bustling with excitement for its fiftieth anniversary. The school had invited many alumni back for the occasion. As the vice president of L.S. Entertainment, Samuel had naturally been on the invitation list, though he discovered the invite in his junk mail only days before.

"Serena! Sam!" Joy spotted them immediately, jogging over to greet them, with Rock trailing behind. He was there because Joy had mentioned Serena would be attending. Since their last encounter, he found thoughts of Serena consuming him, like an unstoppable wildfire. Yet he had no reason to see her again until now. Knowing she'd be at the anniversary, he hadn't slept a wink the night before.

Rock's thoughts were interrupted as he noticed Samuel eyeing him warily, likely suspecting him of betraying Serena. Rock averted his gaze, casually letting it rest on Serena instead.

Samuel frowned, displeased. He had indeed suspected Rock of being the one who had betrayed Serena, but Rock’s demeanor seemed genuine. If not him… Samuel’s gaze shifted to Joy, who was smiling radiantly. A chill ran down his spine. No, it couldn’t be her. Absolutely not.

"Sam, are you even listening to me?" Joy asked, puzzled as she caught Samuel staring at her.
