The lead student was too scared to speak, staring blankly at Serena. It was Yvonne who reacted first. She let out a cold snort, "Why all the pointless talk? If you didn't steal my earrings, just open your bag and prove it."

With that, Yvonne snatched Serena's bag and quickly emptied its contents onto the floor.

"Earrings! There really are earrings!" someone exclaimed.

All eyes turned to the ground, where amidst the scattered items lay a large, unmistakable pearl earring. The whispers of gossip erupted immediately.

"So it was Serena who stole them! I heard she and Aaron broke up. Is she so broke now that she’s resorting to stealing?"

"Tsk tsk, no matter how broke you are, stealing isn’t right!"

"No wonder Aaron broke up with her. If I were Aaron, I'd choose Miss Lynwood too."

"Yeah, did you see Miss Lynwood earlier? She's so pretty, so pure and charming. Even as a girl, I'm smitten."

Yvonne curled her lips with satisfaction. "Serena, caught red-handed. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

"Smack!" Serena raised her hand and slapped Yvonne, leaving everyone in shock.

Yvonne clutched her stinging cheek. "You dare hit me?"

"Not only did I hit you, but I want you to pick up my things," Serena commanded coldly, pointing to her belongings on the ground.

"She stole my earrings and even hit me!" Yvonne quickly interjected. "Samuel, don’t let her fool you. She's not a good person."

"Be quiet," Samuel said firmly, his brow furrowing as he turned to Serena. "I want to hear from Serena. I only trust her."

"You..." Yvonne fumed, feeling helpless, and plopped down on a nearby chair.

Serena's eyes softened slightly, a corner of her heart melting quietly. She looked at Samuel, "I didn't steal."

"Then how did my earrings end up in your bag?" Yvonne stood up again, enraged. "We must call the police!"
