Watching as the crowd swarmed around Serena and William, Cynthia Lynwood’s brow furrowed sharply.

Ever since she’d learned Aaron was coming to Northspire, her mind had been in turmoil.

She’d packed her things late at night and followed him here, unable to rest easy.

For the past few days, aside from when she slept, she had barely left Aaron’s side.

Not until she saw that Aaron made no effort to see Serena did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.

But just a few nights ago, she’d stumbled upon something unexpected: after Aaron returned to his room each evening, he would rest for half an hour, then slip out again.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she secretly tailed him.

That’s when she saw Aaron drive straight to the antique restoration center.

If she hadn’t seen Serena exit the center and get into another woman’s car with her own eyes, Cynthia never would have believed Aaron was there for Serena.

That night, Aaron had followed Serena’s car, and she in turn had followed Aaron.

Eventually, she watched him drive back to the hotel. Still, her nerves remained frayed.

When Cynthia learned Serena would be appearing on “Antiquities Gambit,” she insisted Aaron get her onto the show as well.

It had taken so much to get Aaron to agree to marry her—she wasn’t about to let anything jeopardize that.

Today, Abby had gathered the contestants mainly so they could familiarize themselves with the set before filming began tomorrow.

After sampling desserts from The Gilded Tart and House of Sweet, the group had gotten a good feel for the whole studio.

Abby addressed them, “That’s all for today, everyone. Please get a good rest and be ready for filming tomorrow.”

The other three guests left first.

Serena followed next, giving Abby a polite nod before exiting with William.

As the elevator doors slid open, footsteps sounded behind them.

“Serena, wait up!”
