Serena snapped out of her daze, but her face was still ghostly pale.

After a long moment, her hands trembling, she pulled out her phone and started frantically scrolling, almost as if possessed.

The three men present exchanged uneasy glances, clearly unsettled by her behavior.

“Serena…” William spoke gently, trying to reach her.

But Serena seemed lost in her own world, completely oblivious to everything around her.

Finally, she lifted her head, clutching her phone, and hurried over to Finn. “Is this the sweater?” she asked, hope and anxiety mingling in her eyes.

Finn looked helplessly at William, then after a pause, glanced at the phone screen. His expression changed instantly. “Yes—that’s the one!”

All the light seemed to drain from Serena in an instant.

She blinked hard several times, then said quietly, “Sorry, I need some air.”

With that, she strode out to the backyard, disappearing like a sudden breeze.

Giles and Finn were left bewildered, exchanging confused looks.

Only William watched Serena’s retreating figure with deep concern. After a moment, he turned his wheelchair, grabbed a box of tissues from the table, and followed her outside.

“If you want to cry, just let yourself. You don’t have to hold it in,” William said softly, offering her the tissues.

Serena’s eyes were rimmed red. She took the tissues from him, murmuring a quiet thank you, then gazed up at the vast blue sky.

“I just never imagined Aaron would go so far just to keep me from winning,” she whispered.

William’s eyes were full of sympathy. “That sweater…”

“I knitted it for him,” Serena said, her voice unsteady. “He said it was ugly and tossed it out. The only people who could have found it are the Vance family.”

William pinched the bridge of his nose. “Can I see the sweater?”

Serena hesitated a second, then handed him her phone.
