Serena couldn't figure it out, so she decided to stop trying. "Since you never said I was dirty, then why..."

Her expression shifted slightly.

So...

It was Cynthia Lynwood who had been deceiving her!

But why would she do such a thing?

To drive a wedge between her and Aaron?

Serena let out a bitter laugh. Was there even a need to drive a wedge between her and Aaron?

Sure, Aaron didn't touch her, but it wasn't because she was unclean.

But—

"The person who reported L.S. Entertainment for financial discrepancies—it was you, wasn't it?" Serena looked Aaron straight in the eye, enunciating every word.

Aaron's brow furrowed slightly.

Seeing his lack of denial, Serena was even more convinced that Aaron was the one who reported it.

Her heart sank instantly.

Although L.S. Entertainment was nominally their company, Aaron had never set foot there or shown any interest in its affairs.

Perhaps, to him, L.S. Entertainment was just a burden.

Without it, maybe things would be better.

Serena recalled how she had tirelessly worked to establish the company, running around on her own to ensure everything was ready, all in a bid to bind herself more closely to Aaron.

He hadn't been involved at all.

When she finally handed him the invitation to the opening, all she got was—

"What is this?"

Now that she thought about it, it seemed almost laughable.

Meanwhile, Aaron's face grew increasingly serious.

He wasn't the one who reported L.S. Entertainment.

But back then, in an effort to bring Serena back to Alderburg, he had given Victor an ultimatum.

So...

Watching Serena's trembling figure, Aaron felt a sharp pain, as if a needle had pierced his heart.

"When we get to Rosewood Gardens, I'll open the door."

With that, he leaned over, buckled Serena's seatbelt, and with a press of the gas pedal, the car shot forward like an arrow.

Serena, though unwilling, had no choice but to endure.

As soon as they arrived at Rosewood Gardens and the door unlocked, she pushed it open and got out.

Even if it meant returning to Rosewood Gardens, she'd do it just to get away from Aaron.

She moved quickly, disappearing at the end of the staircase.

Aaron stared at the vacant second floor, feeling his temples throb even more intensely.

Back in her room, Serena didn't hesitate for a moment before dialing William's number.

She needed to leave Aaron!

Even if it meant jumping into another fire.

Yet, the moment she placed the call, Serena regretted it.
