Just as Shu let out a sigh of relief, a sense of shame rose in his heart. He thought to himself, "If it were Thea facing such adversity, she would probably be much more composed than him."

Nathan weakly climbed up and managed to walk out with his last breath.

Mrs. Hill and Alaric were waiting for him outside, and when they saw the disheveled and exhausted Nathan, Alaric's eyes were filled with indifference and disdain. Mrs. Hill, on the other hand, ran up excitedly and embraced Nathan, sobbing uncontrollably.

"How did you get in here?" Mrs. Hill pounded Nathan and asked.

Nathan pushed Mrs. Hill aside and tremblingly walked up to Alaric, saying, "Dad, I was innocent."

Alaric responded with a hint of indifference, "Just come out. In the future, be more cautious and avoid offending those who shouldn't be offended."

This made proud Nathan extremely uncomfortable.

He blackened his face and did not respond to Alaric.

Alaric glanced at him indifferently, seemingly lacking patience even with him, and simply stated, "Your mother and I have already divorced. The assets have been divided. You are now an adult, and you should be independent. In the future, don't come to us for trouble at the drop of a hat."

Nathan was speechless.

"Mom, I'm sorry," Nathan muttered under his breath.

When Nathan returned home, it was already evening.

Victoria prepared a sumptuous dinner to welcome his arrival.

But when Nathan saw Victoria, it was as if he had seen some kind of monster, with a hint of fear in his eyes.

Victoria, however, disregarded everything and ran up to him, tightly embracing him.

"Nathan, you finally came back? Do you know how difficult my days have been these past few days? I pleaded with my parents to rescue you and also begged Thea to let you go, all for you. Sob, sob, sob. Thankfully, you're out now, and all my efforts were worth it."

Nathan heard her say this, and his hardened heart slowly crumbled. Finally, he reached out his hand and gently caressed Victoria's slender and weary back. "You've been through so much," he whispered.

Victoria helped him take off his coat and said tenderly, "Nathan, I have prepared hot water for you. You can take a bath first. When you finish bathing, you can enjoy a hot meal. The meal will be ready soon."

"Okay." Nathan walked towards the bathroom expressionlessly.

In the bathtub, the traditional Chinese medicine herbs emitted a faint fragrance. As Nathan submerged his weary body into the water, that moment of warmth instantly enveloped him.

This warmth was given to him by Victoria. And on his way back, he tried to draw a boundary with her.

He was really confused.
